Passing along some nice comments from another developer...
I received this in my inbox this morning, and although the survey isn't really doing much right now, I wanted to pass this along.
Longbow Digital Arts is probably best known for the 3D tank racing and combat game Tread Marks.
Here is what one game developer had to say:
Hello.
While browsing for B5 stuff, I noticed a link to the survey. I ran through
it instantly. It might have been the first on-line survey I've filled
out... (at least, willingly)
I'd just like to say that a few years ago, at the 1999 Game Developer's
Conference, I had the almighty luck to actually PLAY a small portion of the
game. nVidia was using it as a tech-demo to show off it's latest video card.
All I remember is that it WAS the show. It felt right.
The demo was a scene outside the massive 5-mile station, with a few
starships parked nearby for display, including two of my favorites -- the
Narn heavy cruiser, and Omega destroyer. It was a real pleasure to drift
across the blue nebula and admire them up close.
Elsewhere, there was a setup of 3 or 4 computers back-to-back where they
had Starfury deathmatch running. I had the utmost satisfaction of wasting
a guy on the other side by firing directly into his cockpit. The brief
moment of dodging around gave me heightened anticipation for the game's
release.
I've had a grudge against Sierra since the weenies grabbed the axe. For
the company that published Homeworld (which I love), the game would have
been right up their alley.
If they were a movie studio, they probably would have cancelled Lord Of
The Rings.
I hope this is some indication of the gaping hole that is felt from the
lack of any Babylon 5 game, in a world which has untold incarnations of
Star Trek and Star Wars titles.
Good luck to you.

I thought everyone should read this, mainly because Philippe took the time to write it, and I didn't think it should just sit in my inbox.

(Note: the Screensaver "Particle Fire" by them has text every so often, it once said "We miss you babylon 5!!!")
I think I'll e-mail Jim and/or Philippe about IFH, they *MAY* be interested to know there is still a chance to fly a fury.
And BTW folks, shameless plug..
LDA is getting ready to relaese TreadMarks for the PS2, it'll be much fancier then the curent version, please support them, it's one of the few family run companies out there, and they are great people.

Didn't know Phillipe was into B5. Guess I'll have to drop him a message . I've been doing stuff with LDA for the last 2.5 years and was even employed by them for about 3 months...until they got screwed by their publisher.
BTW, shameless plug:
- Treadmarks (PC version) is available for purchasing online. Links from LDA's website: www.longbowdigitalarts.com

Not the best way to get introduced to a game, I'll confess - nice that they're going places though. Might as well also chip in and tell of the FS2 mod...

[b]I'd come across treadmarks before, but mainly as the result of some nice little hack job that one of the people attached to the community in some way (=DNX=Matrix - runs a community) managed to pull on one of the BZ2 communities.
