Wav to Mp3 converter

Anyone know of such a thing. Got several old wavs I'd like to switch to mp3s.

  • I use DBPowerAmp for .m4a -> .ogg, but it can handle just about anything with the right codecs.

Audacity is technically for audio editing, but you can save your file as .wav, .mp3 (with the lame addon), or .ogg

  • damn lotta choices here.
  • DB PowerAmp is very easy to use. :)
  • DBPowerAmp...Best free solution.
  • I went with that...Good but the compression rate sucks.

lame is the best ripper out there, and if you have it, Nero has it built in.

I much prefer CDex for ripping my CDs. It's very quick and easy and supports pretty much any codec you have installed. It will also re-encode between one codec and another simply by selecting the files and hitting "re-encode" (I use this to re-encode my oggs to mp3 for my mp3 player), and will extract to wav just as quickly. Basically all the same stuff as that DBPowerAmp one, I just happen to like it more. :)

I usually just use Adobe Audition.... I'm just too lazy to have a stand alone program to do something that another program I already use daily can do.
