if you are in the US, you need to wait for your employer to send you your W2 forms, the IRS doesn't send you anything, Once you get your W2's, you can do your return (legally W2's must be postmarked by Jan31st, so you should have yours soon)
Matter of fact I got confirmation this morning that my return was accepted by the tax authority and in the next 2 weeks Ill get my return.
The IRS does it all here. Most people don't have to fill in a return.
I like NZ even more now!
Turbo Tax does it all. Ive been using it for the last 5 years or so, and I havent been dissapointed yet.

i did come across one bad thing in it today, You can only electronically file with it in one state, if you have more than one state you gotta file one by hand oh well. not that big a Deal.
lol, texas has no state taxes :D
which is why baseball players want to play there, more value for their contract.

And THAT is one of the only reasons I enjoy this state. Less paperwork.

Yeah! After all, patriotic citizens want more paperwork. It proves your loyalty if you are prepared to spend your life filling in little boxes on forms. ;)
1099-INT forms and W2 form in hand buying turbotax this weekend! So many more deductions with Wife and her son; I am curious how much more I will get back.
Depending on how much you made, and if you can claim him as a deduction, you may get a hefty sum back (with my 2 kids and EIC we get around $8000 back/year with state and federal refunds)

Huh? I live in Texas.
FYI everyone, I don't pay state income tax so why would I have more "paperwork" to fill out?

you know what else is nice about texas, the easy gun laws.
Texas has gun laws!!????
Well, I finally got a new one. I was a competition shooter, and I like to shoot.
My first gun was a glock 19, the 9mm compact pistol. My new one is a glock 23, the .40SW version of the same gun.
anyways, I thought the whole 7 day wait period was still around when you bought a pistol, but its not. They run a 5 minute background check and if you pass you can take it home that day.
To top it off, now that the Brady bill is no longer in effect, I can get the larger magazines that normally come with a glock instead of the small 10 rounders.
