    That said, Spoiler: Turn the triangles into complete rectangles and you'll see where your missing block comes from...

    I've seen it before :)

    Spoiler: It is not a true triangle and in one case bows in in the center and in the other bows out, allowing for a one block difference.
  • Spoiler: The red triangle is flatter than the green one. The angular difference is merely small enough to deceive a human eye.

    8/3=2.66
    5/2=2.5

    Therefore, the combined "triangle" is never really a triangle. What is supposed to be its "hypothenuse" is either curved or sloped.
