The 4400, opinions?

Okay, I had a bit of spare cash lying around and bought the DVD of the first season of The 4400 because it sounded quite interesting.

Personally, I quite like it, though it is in parts a little slow moving.

Apparently a second season has been commissioned, but I'd like to know everyones opinion of it.

  • Hmm... Well your post is actually the first time I've ever heard of it. I don't have cable TV ~ so I don't have the USA channel. However, you're right it does sound kind of interesting.
  • I also liked it. It was touted as the xfiles meets the xmen. I had downloaded the eps since I missed the run on tv and watching with no commercials or interruptions I quickly lost a few hours of that day.
  • It does seem to have elements of The X-Men mixed into it, and maybe a tiny bit of V as well.

Is the first season only 5 episodes? in that case I just finished watching s1. A mix of X-files and Taken in a way I would say. Its okay but lacking something....

    You got that right...

I like where they are going with the source of the phenomena (sp?)

I saw the first season, but i haven't seen the premiere of the second.

Overall, I was disappointed. Admittedly, it's better than most of the astonishing crap that tv offers, but while it has some very good stuff in it, it's not particularly intelligent, and the writers assume I am not as well.

I think you will like season 2 ep1...

Hm. I'll try and catch the premiere, then.

On a side note, I hope Mark Valley comes back for more. Perhaps they will shoot some episodes in London, and Sienna Miller and Julian Rhind-Tutt can show up too.

Just finished watching episodes 1 and 2 from season 3.. They finished season 2 here on thursday a week ago and I couldnt resist.. I just love it.

It keeps getting better and better episode by episode..

In the first season I was a bit, eeeh... the main cast were mostly some I had never seen, but they work well.

Besides, since Jeffrey Combs became more of a regular quest it's got even better. Anything he does is good on some level. :)

Its a great series, I'm hooked too :) I caught a few episodes on Sky every now and then and it looked interesting. Finally gave it proper attention and I love it. The characters are really good and I like the fact that its about them and that the sci fi element doesn't take over all the time.

Plus is fun watching the epiosdes and spotting actors from Stargate in it. Pretty much every episode I've seen has had some one who appeared in SG1 at some point. Assume they film in similar locations.

Lol, Stargate has been around for so long almost every actor who's ever been on any sci-fi show has probably had an appearance in Stargate. I actually thought about playing a drinking game for every time a BSG actor showed up in Stargate. So far I 've spotted Grace Park (Boomer) as one of the recruites in that episode where they have a some mock scenario traning a you SG team. Aaron Douglas (Tyroll) as a Jaffa in one or two other episodes. The guy who plays Simon the Cylon was a goauld in that episode where he pretends to be a rebel jaffa training a new army. I can't remember if it was the guy who plays Leoben or Doral (or both) I spotted in another episode and I'm sure I'm forgetting some.

Spot on there with those. Yeah one of the human Cylons the former reporter guy that got found out eventually, he was in 2 episodes of SG1, the one where they turned up on a planet which led to a civil war. he was on the side that Daniel tried to help to stop the war. And if I remember correctly the 2nd in command of the religious nut guy, she is in 4400 too, plays the character that has the mind control abilities (the nova gp member).
