Book of lost plot threads

An idea has occured to me of something I'd really like to see: I want a book of all the notes that JMS made, all the plots he considered and dropped, while he was creating B5. It'd be a facinating insight into the creative process. Obviously, a lot would be left out, to avoid spoiling possible future plots, but I'm sure quite a bit could be left in, enough for a book, at least.

Thoughts?

    Heh...good luck. Apart from the occasional prodding by Usenet posters, JMS doesn't usually talk about abandoned plot threads. I think he tends to focus on the Babylon 5 that [i]is[/i] instead of the Babylon 5 that [i]could have been[/i]. Some doors have closed, and needn't be opened again.

    Yup, if whats his face stayed with the series, he would travel back in time and become Valen at the end of the 5 year arc. And then everyone would go OOOHHHH!!!!!

    My library had a book by JMS...something to the extent of film making. I looked it over, and it had quite a bit from B5 scripts. [img]http://216.15.145.59/mainforums/smile.gif[/img]

    So does mine. I think there is a new edition out. Who knows what it might have.

    I think you're referring to [i]The Complete Guide to Scriptwriting[/i]. I have that book. It's a really good read. Very insightful.

    JMS has been asked this numerous times and he has made it quite clear that he will NEVER release his notes, rough drafts, outlines or any other material used to create the show. He feels that the only thing that he should ever release are the finished product (including unproduced scripts for Crusade). We don't need to see what the plot "might have been."
