The display! It's not purple!

;)

Nice...though I would have no use for it :)

• Hmm... wonder if ColorWare will paint my Zen Touch green... ;)
• Random ChaosRandom Chaos Actually Carefully-selected Order in disguise

It is a daily reminder to the truth of Purple...

:p

Was wondering since I knew you were a purple :)
• I think he ment that it's a daily reminder that green is more popular than plurple. :D

very nice display on that one though...whats the battery life like on it?
• Random ChaosRandom Chaos Actually Carefully-selected Order in disguise
That is becuase we purples control proprietarily the access to purple LEDs. This prevents frivilous use of the great color of purple!
• heh, how much did that patent cost? 5 cents? :D

I'll buy it for a dollar. :D
• Random ChaosRandom Chaos Actually Carefully-selected Order in disguise
We would never sell it to someone that would abuse the color purple!
• I wouldn't abuse it.

in fact, I'd never even use it. :D

If you dare quote me, QUOTE WHAT I SAY and don't malign the word purple!
• but if we SAY that word, it counts as a vote for said color, effectivly making your vote count twice, which is wrong.

Clearly, in an effort to uphold election standards, Green team has edited your message. We would expect the same from you. :D

And sorry Jack, looks like this went off topic...
• Random ChaosRandom Chaos Actually Carefully-selected Order in disguise
of course I would edit your message...I would just make an invisible edit that would cause the search engine to miss my statement...like this:

Sample: gre.en

Oh, and LONG LIVE PURPLE!

Single Alkaline AAA battery last ~12 hours continuos play. The menu display and the Blue LED shut off after a few seconds. The more I use the menu etc the lower the battery life of course.

That's quite amzing to me though! :D

My Rio PMP300 will eat up a Single Alkaline AA in about 2-6 hours...

;)

I also love the Blue LED used for activity indicator. The menu display is actually more of a greenish-blue, but came out green in the pic above.

This is Alien Tech for a priest of the Purple Sect... :p
• BigglesBiggles The Man Without a Face
I highly recommend you pick up a rechargeable AAA, Jack. 12 hours is a long time, but you'll still eat through batteries rapidly. I grabbed one for my Muvo NX and it didn't have any less battery time.

DAMN green kicked ass... but what else would one expect???
• Random ChaosRandom Chaos Actually Carefully-selected Order in disguise
Purple works from the shadows, thus we are not all that visible.
• Yea RC, I can really see how that works out for ya...

Not at all visible when your in the shadows....

:D :p

We have personal cloaking...that is why we purple are usually unseen. ;)
• ahh...personal cloaking devices...

so what your saying is plurple likes to die a slow painful death from radiation poisoning?

back to main topic....

how are rechargables these days? last time I tried rechargable batteries they tended to last ~2 hours, then needed 6 hours recharging.
(This was ohhh....6+ years ago)

Yeah...sorry Jack for pulling this off topic ;)

(note: PURPLE! )

A couple questions...

Where is that picture taken?

And how can I get an unblemished copy of it...

:)

That's beautiful...
• Random ChaosRandom Chaos Actually Carefully-selected Order in disguise
Well, I believe the purple being's picture was taken using a short exposure lense near the aardvark homeworld. No idea how to get an unblemished copy of it, though getting rid of all that gr-ee-n would be nice.

:D

i got me one of those MP3/flash drives players at the start of the year. have to say i wasnt very impressed with it after a while. the battery life was supposed to be 9-12 hours, but all i could get was 3 if i was lucky. now all i use it for is as a flash drive.

(and the display light is purple btw!)

That has a lot to do with the type of rechargable. You can get Ni Cadmium, NiMH, Lithium, etc. NiCad dies quickly for most things, but is the cheapest. I use NiMH and they seem to last well for electronics.

There are several considerations:
Current vs Time curve. A lot of electronics require a mininum current to run. Non-rechargables are fairly flat for most of their lives, then the current drops off rapidly. NiCad tends to drop off throughout their whole life - this means that they don't last well for electronics, but will do fine in flash lights and for motors. I don't know what the curves look like for NiMH and Lithium batteries, but generally those two are what one should use with electronics. Just be careful and make sure the electronics component can take the rechargable. They don't have the same voltage as Alkaline (NiMH is 1.2V where Alkaline is 1.5V for a AA battery).
