Powell leaving is bad news for use foreign policy - he was the only moderate Bush had on the cabinet. With Powell with go Powell's deputy who stated he would not remain with the Bush administration when Powell left.
However, I’m glad he is resigning if he doesn’t think he has the energy to work for the administration anymore. We are going to need a secretary of state who is enthusiastic if there is ANY hope of brokering a deal between the Palestinians and the Israelis.
Mundane: If you and some of the others turn every thread on this board into an emotional rant fest this is not going to be a fun place of anyone to visit. I implore you to listen to your mature side and keep at least some of the political ranting in check.

Actually Croxis is probably refering to the passage of a specific ballot initiative in Washington state. Bush to him is probably the 3rd worst news.
And Konrad - telling people to deny how they feel is just as bad as people whining about something they can't change for another 4 years.

I never told him - or anyone - to deny how they feel. However, there is a place and a time for everything.

I used to come here to hang out with a great group of unique and diverse people. We used to talk about anything but politics.
But lately I haven't felt very welcome simply because I am a US citizen.
This place has become an outlet for frustrated FO members of other nations to beat up the US by proxy.
I dunno...

One thing though: How could you not expect a thread on a political appointee not to include any political rants? If you don't want political rants, go to threads that aren't about politics.

I forgot about that... ok make this the third worst thing I heard so far this month. And the biogted state is oregon. Washington hasen't legalized discrimintation yet.

I agree. You're allowed to have an opinion, but you don't go around beating everyone over the head with it. I hate Bush too, but you don't see me shoving my opinion around like the gospel do you?
