Swedish Language softer than Finnish?

At the place where I do my practice for my study an engineer from Sweden has his desk in the same room like me.
So I believed to have recognized that the Swedish language is more softer than the Finnish, like comparing the French to the German languange. Unfortunately for the Finnish language I only have StarWreck as reference.
So I assume that here are still some ppl from Sweden as well as from Finnland who can say me if I correct or totally wrong?

Totta hitossa... Perkele!
Helvetti: well, I think this doesn't need explanation.
Hitto/Hiisi: sacred place of pagans, which is kept bad by Christianity.
Perkele: loanword from language of Latvia (perkons) or Lithuania (perkunas) meaning main god of pagans which is kept as manifestation of devil by Christianity.
Saatana: this is again one of those which doesn't need explanation.
Ands some variations:
Perhana: perkele
Saakeli,Samperi: Saatana.
haista: smell, sniff; paska: shit; pers(e)reikä: asshole.
It's used like Fuck you, asshole.
And forgot this: when pronouncing perkele, emphasis is on "r".

You might want to look these films:
Talvisota (Winter War)
Tuntematon sotilas (the Unknown Soldier)
Remember to look it's original black and white movie. (from year 1955)

They're selling those both on same dvdset now..
Never seen Winter War actually.
So it just might sound harsh, because it isn't really toned down by a number of hardly understandable dialects. ;)
SEPPO HOVI! (Yes, it IS a curse word. Believe it or not. Read a book once. :D)
But let's continue our little tour. In Finnish language there are five main curse words: helvetti (hell), saatana (satan), perkele (perkele - also my personal favourite word  ), jumalauta (goddammit) and vittu (fcuk, also referring to female genitalia). You can also find numerous derivative curse words, euphemisms, onomatopoetic exorcisms, pejorativisms, connotative expressions... as well as sexual, scatological, religious, paganic, political, art, sport, war, animal or decease related and combined curse words counting up to over 3500 words in Finnish language that can be categorized as a curse word.
Most of these words are considered as soft curses, hardly noticeable everyday language so you really can't use them if you really want to empower your message. That's why "The Power Rangers" (five main curse words) are so popular and it's the popularity that leads to inflation... I've always said we need one or two new main curse words to maintain the richness and diversity of Finnish language.

So do you have words which don't sound like curse words and endows the finnish language with richness, too?
I believe every spoken language has many of those. The people here in the cold North simply are more orientated to express themselves harshly... I still don't encourage anyone to learn Finnish, it ain't a perfect language. Such a thing hasn't been developed yet.
Btw, how often you're drinking alcohol?
I've asked the guy from Sweden today and he told me that the finnish language is completely different from any other language around. (Swedish, Russia)

Finnish is not an Indo-European language. It belongs to the so-called Ural-Altaic group, referring to the Ural Mountains and Altai, a region in Siberia. It is an odd name, since the family stretches from Finland. Estonia and Hungary in the west to Sakhalin on the Pacific...
It stretches from the Arctic in the north to Turkey and Central Asia in the south.
http://wais.stanford.edu/Language/language_finnishlang21102.html

The finnish are good at that..
Finnish is only useful for one thing: swearing :P

LOL....
I figured that:p
Btw, how often you're drinking alcohol?
For my part, not often and in moderation, but I really can't speak for the majority, now can I? :D
Hey, ya gotta have some way to keep the antifreeze level up...:D
You got that right dude! :D
Without alcohol your brain would freeze in here during winters and when drinking alcohol the brain will "freeze" from that, but at least you stay warm! And recommended drink for that purpose is of course the Finnish "national drink" Koskenkorva Vodka, AKA "Kossu". :D :p
And yeah, Swedish and Russian languages are indeed totally different from Finnish, but then again the Estonian language in south is so similar to ours, that we can actually understand quite a bit of each others talk even if never heard it before. In fact, Estonian actually sounds like a funny humorous version of Finnish. Seriously! :D

@Alcohol: So the dark winter is the reason? Or also historically? … I’ve heard that a drunkard isn’t frowned up like here.
And furthermore I've heard (no, I don’t hear voices in my head all over the time) the following: As the prices for alcohol were really high in finnland many ppl bought it in Estonia so the finnish government decided to lower the prices for alcohol?!
Hey guys, thanks for the info about the language!

The finnish are worse than we norwegians when it comes to drinking. I suppose one reason is the high prices, causing you to drink a lot when you first drink, because it doesnt feel that expensive then :).
Other than that...it is dark..the weather is bad...the people are really "cold" when not drinking....
...it is dark..
What's wrong with dark?
And it doesn't even start until after 4 pm!
It would be even better if clouds would go away more often so that stars would show.
Now with good luck it takes just to around christmas to get clear sky again. (with -20 to -30 C temp)

Btw, how often you're drinking alcohol?
Once every ∞ year... I've got better things to do with brain than to "poison" them.
You use clothes to stay warm, you know you have enough clothes on when you can't easily look more than 30 degrees above horizon.
I'm thinking should I let beard grow little... after two-three weeks it starts to warm chin very nicely, especially on windy weather.

Something like that, yes
