I'm a DIEHARD Mets fan, when i was living in NYC, i made it out to every game i possibly could, i LOTHE the Yankees, so i'm rooting for the Sox, who i also like having grown up in New England.

I rather like the Cubs, i was really hoping for a cubs/sox WS last year, but ahh well it wasn't ment to be.

Just watched the Sox lose game 2, but its ok, They are just setting the Yankmees up. 3 straight at fenway, then they will lose game 6 at the stadium, only to come back annd win game 7, 14-3 yeah yeah thats it!
  • RhettRhett (Not even a monkey)
Yes I loathe the yankees too, always have, always will. Runs in the family I think :) haha but yea, I agree I think that with arroyo pitching to start the series at fenway, they can sweep... but this problem with schilling, I dont know- they just dont have to best of luck. We shall see! Heres to hoping the Red Soxs being WS champs 2004!

P.S. I think that if there ever was a redsox-cubs world series, the stadium would blow up...

you know, I used to be a huge Braves fan (originally from georgia), but the strike in the early 90's really turned me away from baseball. I was a kid then, and my dad had only recently found work again after having been laid off when Eastern Airlines went under, and I couldnt understand why these people playing a game that I played were going on strike to get more.

Now that Im older, I understand that were more rebelling against owners who make un-imaginable sums of money compared to even what they get, but it still irritates me that they did it.

Then when they almost went on strike a couple years ago, I decided I was done. They make more money than me, and get drafted right out of high school to play a GAME.

dont worry though, Ill leave you guys with plenty of ammo to flame me. Im still a die hard football fan, and despite their horrendous season this year, Im still a Packers fan. alas, I hope this is Brett's last year, I cant continue to watch him play like that. But it damn well better be Shermans last year, Im tired of his coaching, he really sucks.

Cards fan of course, I'm not a big baseball guy, but I like watching the Cards play. I remember watch the 84(?) WS that was the Cards vs the Royals, called it the I-70 for the hightway that connects the two cities.

I'd like to see a Card/Sox world series, but its looking like a Cards/Yanks matchup.

Been a diehard yankees fan all my life. Grew up watching Mattingly, Winfield and even Turtlebaul.

The thing is, and don't flame me Yankees fans... The Cards are a better team than the Yanks, if its Cards/Yanks, i pick the Cards in 5 or 6

Now wait a minute, Nobody last night was Pedro's Daddy except maybe Olerud, Lieber was the sox hitters daddy, no doubt about that. but, pedro did his job, the lineup just didn't do theirs.
  • RhettRhett (Not even a monkey)
Haha and so we go to the bottom of the 14th... insanity, reminds me of the game I went to between the cubs and the angels... 15 innings, man that was crazy, but so much fun :) especially since it was with my girlfriend, and she is an angels fan- so when the cubs finally pulled it off... it was great :D
  • I have never been a big fan of baseball or the doping meatheads/meatsocks who play it. *Hit a ball with a stick and run around in a circle counter clockwise* Yawn...

However! Even I have to admit that the last few Red Socks - Yankees games have been interesting and fun to watch.

That was 1985....I was at Game 5....we lost....:(

Diehard Cards Fan here. Me and Mrs Hobo actually spent the night outside Busch Stadium last Friday for World Series Tickets. We got game 5 seats!!! IT WAS FREAKING COLD!!

I also skipped school in 1982 and went to the parade downtown here. What a time....:)

I also wish for the BoSox to win. After last nights dramatic win, they have a (small) chance to force a Game 7 for the first time in ALCS history that a team that was down 0-3 to comeback and tie.

As for the Birds on the Bat. It aint over yet. We have to win the next 2 at home. Just win baby!!
  • RhettRhett (Not even a monkey)
ZocaloHobo, that is a terrible icon there... Thats my team man, dont be hating on the cubs :)
Haha but just have to believe... Next year we'll get em... But for the rest of this year, Go RED SOX!!!
  • Just want to say that I'm glad the Yankees lost.

Time for other teams to win.

Cmon Cards! Just need to pull out a victory tomorrow and they'll be heading to the World Series. Too bad Clements is pitching for the Astros...

FYI: I'm in Columbus Oh this week, and last night I couldn't find any radio stations that had the Cards game on, so just for s***s and grins I tuned it the radio to 1120 AM, which is KMOX in St. Louis....AND I PICKED UP THE FRIGGIN GAME! I couldn't believe it. As far as I can tell I was picking up the signal all the way from St. Louie, since it was KMOX's normal program, complete with St. Louis specific commerials. It's amazing how far an AM signal can travel on a cloudy night.

I live in Bar Harbor Maine, we're just over 530 land miles from NYC, 9 nights out of 10 i can get all my New York AM stations here, the other night for the Sox/Yanks game, i got our local redsox channel, WCBS 880 out of New York, WEEI out of Boston, some random station out of Hartford, I could listen to the game on like 6 different stations...

and to paraphrase an old Misfits song...

"I've got something to say, the Sox beat the Yankees today, Doesn't matter much to me, As long as their dead"
  • Never did finish my Sociology essay... Johnny Damon blasted one out of the park with the bases loaded right as I hit page two. :p

First team to ever recover from an 0-3 deficit in the postseason (on the opponent's field!)

Second Grand Slam in the postseason, ever.

One of the more exciting series ever, as well. :D

THE REDBIRDS ARE HEADING TO BEANTOWN!!!!

Thank god for AM radio, was able to pick up end of the game again last night. Funny thing was, here I am 500 miles away from St. Louis, listening to the oldest of communication technologies, while I was on the phone with my wife, listening to the final inning and I was telling her what was happening since the radio was about 10 seconds ahead of what she was seeing since she was watching the satellite.
