IBM is expected to announce a new 192 Terrabyte storage array this week...with 256 GBs of cache.

Though Hitachi has a 332 Terrabyte array already...

  • I think they would have to create some sort of proprietary bus to format that thing in a decent amount of time. But then they probably already have to create several proprietary peices of hardware just to address the bastard.

    Nah, if the RPM is high enough, you could probably stick it on a high-end SCSI controller and format it in a decent ammount of time.

    The IBM array is using fibre channel for the drive bus. (Might help if you read the article)
