He's always shown such optimism that he will one day walk again it's a shame that he couldn't realise that dream.
May he be able to walk wherever he is now.
but at least he went in his sleep.
dang, he still seemed in pretty good condition on smallville, all things concidered... :(

he was in good shape, thats the sad part, this was a Bedsore, Technically it was a direct result of his condition, but not really caused BY his condition, if you know what i mean,
Same thing killed my Cousin, Really frelling sucks

I learned allot from his books on paralysis. He talked about how many non-vertibrates can heal themselves and even grow new limbs, but vertibrates, for the most part, were (in the larger scope of history) killed by predators after an injury like this, so they never had the opportunity to develop the genes to heal this type of damage. Most people don't know if or how people can regain capability because, like Chris, so many people die of complications resulting from the injury, not the injury itself. I know that Chris was a huge proponent of stem cell research (which I agree with as well); It's a shame that he won't be around to reap the benefits of what might come from that.
Farewell, Chris. You made us all believe that the human spirit truely can fly.

I also agree with the need for stem cell research. I saw a documentary about the human body by a British guy a while ago. One part was about stem cells. In some experiments with mice with gaps in their spinal columns, they could insert a sort of wadding filled with stemcells, and the stemcells filled in the gap and the mice regained full control. This is the sort of thing that would change the lives of so many people suffering from injuries, and is the sort of thing Christopher Reeve was working for. The loss of his voice for this is horrible.
just NOT on young children, which some may call embryos.
He was a great man, and definately an inspiration for all those suffering from paralasys.
Sad that he's gone, hope he's running in heaven. Or better yet, flying for real. :(
anyway, Reeve was cool....
there gonna put you back to 0 again. :D
