    Considering how bad Xenosaga1 was, can't say I'm all that enthusiastic. I believe gamespot.com gave it the "Most Pretentious Game" razzie award last year :p

    Is there an actual game to Xs2, or is it another great big anime-cliche movie with some gameplay as an afterthought?

    They also gave it an 8.1 in their review.

    Yes, there is actual gameplay involved. So far it looks like they've given the whole "gameplay" aspect a complete work over. Also, as I've said before, Xenosaga may or not be a bad game depending on what you're looking for in a game. :)

    By the way, did you actually play Xenosaga 1? It sure wasn't anything like "anime-cliche." It may have had anime style art and made use of medium-sized robots, but there were very few anime cliches in it.

    There were only a few problems I had with XS1:

    - Music was way, way underused
    - The story just kinda cuts off in the middle, with no real climax, and many plot points completely unresolved; I view XS2 as simply the second disc of XS1.
    - Music was way, way, way underused

    So, yeah, I'll be playing once I can get my hands on it.

    The music isn't underused in 2 so far, which is good. I agree with 1 though. The music was great and should have been used more to provide more atmosphere. By the way, the composer is different this time, at least for all the music I've heard so far. The music is composed by [url=http://www.fictionjunction.com/]Yuki Kajiura[/url]. But that's OK, cause I happen to like her style of ambient music a lot.

    From what I've heard the US release is due some time early next year, so hopefully you won't have to wait long.
