X-prize attempt in 5 days...

FreejackFreejack Jake the Not-so-Wise
I'm surprised no one's brought this up yet (to busy debating politics I guess), but Rutan's team is making its attempt at the X-prize on September 29th.

If all goes as planned, the second flight will take place on October 4th (my birthday, yeh!).

I just hope after this attempt is completed, someone will step up and create the Y-Prize for the first orbital flight...

Jake

Well, as it turns out, it was sold to a very rich Saudi (or at least, I think it was a Saudi), who promptly forgot about it, leaving it in the middle of a small island.

But at least it's found. OK-GLI is one of my favorite of the prototype Buran orbiters.
