PS2 controller layout

Forgive me if I sound like an idiot here, but does anyone know what the L3 and R3 buttons would be on a PS2 controller? I am trying to use a code for Contra, and I can't for the life of me figure out how to do it. I would normally make some kind of excuse for using a cheat, but it's Contra. It's just not the same without codes.

L3 and R3? I didn't know the PS2 controller had another two shoulder buttons... I certainly can't find them on mine.

those are the two analog knobs. You push them in, and voila. L3/R3.

I know they make a click when they're pushed, but I don't think they're actually buttons.

Not all games use them but they are buttons

    What games do use them?

For example in Vice City, the L3 button made you crouch when you were walking and honked the horn/turn on sirens when you were in a vehicle.

Timesplitters allows you to use it

I guess it must be the RPG genre that doesn't use them. :)
  • I use the analog sticks so much for Winning Eleven that the area around them is slowly being scraped off from use, and the push fuction no longer works [on my old controller]. :D
