Yet another example of sh*tty P.R...
Let's get the facts straight: The rations in question were developed and are intended for use with contaminated water; although urine [U]could[/U] be used instead, the scientists who developed the rations [U]do not[/U] recommend it. (This is in the article, BTW.)
Why they're even mentioning the use of urine is beyond me, since a person who's in that serious a situation probably [I]won't[/I] be eating much anyway or at all (digestion uses up a lot of water, usually in the form of digestive acids; from what I've heard, it's best to eat as little as possible if clean water isn't readily available).
