B5/Next Gen Hmmm
I hate to think that anything in B5 was taken from Next Gen. BUT, I happend to be watching Next Gen last night, And the episode where Picard is captured and tortured by the cardassians was on (THERE ARE 4 LIGHTS), The Dialogue that the Cardiassian Captor uses at the beginning, is almost identical to the interragator in Intersections in realtime " "Do you have any allergies or illnesses I should be aware of? Are you currently taking any medication?" it was almost word for word.

It just sounds like standard procedure to me.
Also, that episode of TNG is one of my favorites. It's simply great how well it was all done.
Interrogators need to keep their prisoners alive in order to extract information. They use all kinds of methods to extract information (torture, drugs, psychological conditioning, etc.).
When an interrogator asks about allergies, he wants to make sure he doesn't give the prisoner a drug/food that could kill him/her through an allergic reaction.
As for the illness question, if a prisoner has an illness from which he/she could possibly die if not given certain drugs or treatment, the interrogator needs to know this in order to keep the prisoner alive.
It is, in fact, standard procedure.

Although the lights issue isn't what we're talking about, that kind of thing goes back further than [i]1984[/i]. It's a cue to the interrogator that the prisoner has been broken. Convincing the prisoner that he sees what is not there, is the sign that he can be "reprogrammed" if necessary.

Yeah - im going to go with the "its a standard procedure" group, because my pharmacist asked me the exact same things this morning. - (except they said 'any [i]other[/i] medication' , since it was a pharmacy, yknow...)

I don't buy the "standard procedure" line, since there is more in common between the eps, i was just using that as an example.
I'm not usually one who says they are copying eachother, or who really cares, but when its word for word, that piques my interest.

Read what I said above, and it'll make sense. It [i]is[/i] standard procedure. Interrogators HAVE to keep their subjects alive. They need to know to avoid giving any drug to the prisoner that might cause an allergic reaction, or if he needs certain medication to stay alive.
Think about it: In a situation like that, someone spent a LOT of time and money capturing one person... the interrogator wouldn't look so bright if the prisoner died from an allergic reaction to sodium pentathol (truth serum) or some other drug.
