Only a telecommute if it were offered, but it won't be. You have to uproot and live nearby the place.

I'm out... ;)

The screen shots look awesome though...

It was the Commodore 64 that showed the world a home media computer was possible, the Amiga just refined it with more power.
• RubberEagleRubberEagle What's a rubber eagle used for, anyway?
Those Pics in the interview look gorgeous!

I still have my SX-64 and Indus GT disk drive, and a Commodre 1701 video monitor. I also have a butt load of Amiga stuff still too...

Biggles is going to get a care package one of these days! :D

My parents had the tremendous foresight to see the potential in computers for entertainment, education and jobs, and bought a C64 specifically for us kids way back at the beginning of 1986. I grew up with that computer. :)

Same here. The C64 was my main toy from early childhood to early teens. Going from playing games to programming basic games. Much fun was had, and much fun will be had in teh future! :)

Damn, wish I'd had a Commodore; instead, I grew up on a PC Jr.

Best part is that my SX-64 will never have any Y2K date issues, and the Amiga won't until 2038... :p

I grew up on an Amiga :)

Marble Madness...Hack (the original!)...Sim City (near original)...ooh, and of course Fairie Tale. That game still impresses me! Not that I ever beat it...

And I remember doing animations and drawings (with a plug in sketch pad) and voices with it too (it read text). It's still around...somewhere...

Ah man... that's kinda cool!

Bookmarked for later reference...

Is that a straight out OS for PC's or is it emulation...?

It's Amiga Emulation using the rather excellent UAE (Windows version - http://www.winuae.net/ ).

Everything in Amiga Forever can be found on the net/newsgroups/aminet for free, but most of that isn't legal. You get all the kickstart roms (1.x-3.x) as well as legal copies of Workbench (the AmigaOS) and some other stuff.

The real benefit of it is that everything comes setup for you, the biggest hassle to a lot of people is getting everything setup for the first time (finding kickstart roms etc..) but paying $29.99 for that might be a little overpriced, considering:

a) You're basically paying $29 to have your own legal copies of Amiga Kickstart roms and disc images of workbench. The most recent versions of these being released some 10 years ago (I'm not sure if the "new" 3.9 AmigaOS comes with it..).

b) You can do it all for free anyway, I'm sure the CIA won't be kicking down any doors because someone has downloaded an Amiga 500 kickstart image almost 20 years old from the net.

c) If all you want to do is play old games, or use workbench, it would be far simpler to setup winuae yourself and download the stuff you need from the net ("Amiga in a Box" - http://aiab.emuunlim.com/ - gives you a very nice workbench setup and all you need is a workbench 3.x disk image to install it).

d) Some of the bunf you're paying for might not be worth it unless you have an Amiga (Amiga Explorer), but free alternatives for networking Amiga->PC are available as well.

One of the cool things about the new version though is the KX Lite thing, which boots into the emulated Amiga OS much like any other normal OS.

I'm not trying to have a go at the package, it is legal and licensed from Amiga INC (or whatever they're called now). I'm just pointing out that you can do all of it for free.

There is work on a "straight out" os for PC's called AROS - www.aros.org. I've never used this, but it can be installed as a separate os, although its much more comfortable running ontop of linux.

And I still haven't forgiven my parents for selling our C64. :)
