Firefox downloads have been soaring ;)

So have you changed yet?

The only defense may be completely disabling scripting and ActiveX controls.
Internet Exposed is only browser which uses (over)ActiveX!
Alternative browsers such as Mozilla or Netscape may not protect users, the agency warned, if those browsers invoke ActiveX control or HTML rendering engines.
Yeah, but they aren't just talking about AcidX... :p

Notice the Scripting and Rendering HTML engine references... ;)
• BigglesBiggles <font color=#AAFFAA>The Man Without a Face</font>
Yeah. Not much point in having a webbrowser if you don't use an HTML rendering engine. Even lynx uses one of those. :D

That has got to be one of the worst-written articles I've seen in a very, very long time. "Java scripts"?? Please....

So have you changed yet?
It's installed, it's got a spot on my Quick Launch bar, and I'm seriously contemplating actually using it for something other than browser compatability tests. :p

There were many other articles about this as well, including quite a good one on wired with more info. Slashdot (naturally) mentioned it too.
• I think I'm just gonna get around to it... Mozilla's stupid little scrolly thing (when you push the middle mouse button) annoys me with it's oversensitivity and "standing-out-too-much"-ness , and I hate how you can't scroll with the wheel if your cursor is in a text box, and I hate tab browsing, and I hate the general look of everything, but it's the superior browser. :p

tab browsing? If you hate it, don't use it.
general look? It IS skinable you know...
• BigglesBiggles <font color=#AAFFAA>The Man Without a Face</font>
Not to mention completely rearrangable.
• I know it's skinnable, it's not the browser itself that bothers me... I dunno. Stupid rounded buttons and improperly sized text boxes

My brother's been telling me to swap over for around forever and a half, so I finally broke down and got Firefox. Haven't had any real problems yet, the biggest being that my bookmarks list got rearranged (Oh noes!).

Seems like a decent browser so far.
• EclecticonautEclecticonaut Elite Ranger
Wise decision. Firefox with userContent.css is the best browser I've ever used.
improperly sized text boxes
This is a completely valid concern. I'm still rather annoyed that the box in which I type posts here doesn't seem half as wide as it should be, and the tables over at Lancer's Reactor are all screwed up in Firefox. Anyone know of a fix?

Probably needs to lock down some more attributes for those tables. A lot of people who design web sites slack off, and let the newer browsers try and clean up the dimensions and stuff.

Firefox may be expecting some information it's not getting.

*shrug*

No. You're having delusions of correctness again.

Jack: Could be; I just wish it was more consistent. The table width of the "Quick Reply" area on the IFH boards actually changes when I click within it.
