Going on "holiday"? You mean you are going on vacation or you're got free time due to a holiday in your country?

Honey! I'm home!!

well im back (obviously). had a great time out in canada, really enjoyed it! even tho i had to spend 2 weeks with my parents:D

we started out in calgary (well just north of it, in a place called sylvan lake), staying with one of my dad's old school friends for a couple of nights. we then drove a hire car (a very nice chevy pacifica for those in the know) from sylvan lake to kamloops, kamloops to hope, hope to nanimo on vancouver island, then down the sunshine coast to vancouver itself and then we flew back to calgary. quite the whistle stop tour! been back home in the UK about 3 hours and i still feel like im in the car travelling. :)

went whale watching off vancouver which was pretty awsome! they were about 50ft off the bow of the boat and breaching. got some pretty good pics and footage of them, tho i dont have anywhere to upload them to, (or a cable to connect it to the computer either for that matter:()

the only other things that we did that was pretty cool was take a sea plane flight around victoria on vancouver island, and go to over to drumheller to look at some dinosaur skeletons.

so we;re hopefully gonna be going back out there around christmas time tio let my brother see canada and see if he likes it enough to move there (hes off in madagascar doing a trek) and maybe then we will be able to go see a hockey game. i was majorly that we couldnt go out in time to see a game.

i was also extremely pissed off to find out that i would be coming home at exactly the same time as the pilot of SG: Atlantis went on air!

on the plus side, i did get hold of a copy of 'from the earth to the moon' which ive been looking for (cheaply) for ages.

Actually, saying your going on a holiday is pretty common here in the states...
but, as all those Texas ads go:
"Texas: It's a whole 'nother country"
:D
• And the tanks? :p
• ShadowDancerShadowDancer When I say, "Why aye, gadgie," in my heart I say, "Och aye, laddie." London, UK
pretty damn cool! we werent able to get them out of the shed cos of all the shit in the way. cant remember what the names were, but there was 2 light armoured cars, a heavy armoured car, a light tank and an half-track..

after having a seat in the tank i have a huge amount of new respect for the guys who went to war in them. tho i can also believe the around 90% mortality rate of the tank crews. you would certainly be hard pushed to get out of the tank in the 30 seconds they say you had to get out if you got hit:rolleyes:

"Going on a holiday" or "going on holiday"? The 2nd is what we usually say.
The Texas bit is probably true, though. :D
