As far as killing Hienrich with masonry is concerned I think you'll find its the suspended block of stone hanging from a crane cable off to one side of the 'arena'. You'd have to lead him under it and then prolly fire a couple well aimed Panzerfausts at the cable. Or... there are some overhead sections of masonry in the centre area which may be susceptible to a little panzerfaust action...

I'll have to try that and see what happens.

The biggest bitch about that last scene is keeping a lid on the bitch with the ghoulie summoning power. IF she gets off afew ghostie ghoul things, you're toast, no armour will save you from the soul sucking attack they use. I make a point of making sure she gets her own personal arc of tesla power.

Hieny himself is pretty pathetic, a large slow walking tank. Every time he uses his telekinetic "C"MERE!" thing you just go with the flow and run forward and jump and you sail over his head, using his added momentum to catch some serious air and hangtime. I usually keep firing all the time, spinning in the air so I'm facing him when I land. He must have a seriously thick skull with the ammount of 12.7's I've put directly into the top of his head. :)

Mind you, if he connects with that guillotine-on-a-stick, kiss your butt goodbye.

[B]We're now talking about Freespace 2.

By Freespace I meant both games as a whole. They practically use the saem engine with some additions and improvments here and there for FS2.

And your Moloch example is a peffect example of what I mean. It is not hard coded into the game. Otherwise, you would not even be able to get it down to a few percent. What that was was an event scripted into the mission where that ship became invulnerable when it got down to a certain percentage because they did not want you to destroy it yet. You can set a ship to invulnerable in the mission editor, but it is a choice of the designer, not hard coded.
  • Anyone want good boss fights? Look no further than Metroid Prime. The bosses are hard, but not unreasonably so. None of them have an uber-powerful attack that'll kill you in one hit. But they're tough enough to wear you down if you're careless. Killing bosses in MP takes patience and a bit of strategic thinking. And the final boss? He was nasty, but never once was I reduced to dribbling down my shirt and throwing valuable objects around the room in frustration. I believe MP also won an award last year in the "Most memorable boss-fight" category.

If anyone doesn't have a Gamecube, I tell you this one game alone makes the cube worth buying.

If we are talking about the mission where Shivans attacks GTD Aquitaine when it is testing new stealth fighters, it is not an invulnerability event. Because if it was, the corvette could not be destroyed by any ship, including the Aquitaine. And the corvette can be destroyed in this particular mission, although it is very difficult. :) It's a bonus objective in this particular mission, and unless you're cheating, only Aquitaine can destroy the corvette for you.

When a ship's class is a corvette, a destroyer or bigger. It becomes automatically invulnerable to standard fighter weapons at 10%.

Don't believe me? Create a mission in FRED2, place a Moloch there and let it be pummeled by counless fighters while the corvette plays dead. It stops taking any damage when hull integrity drops to 10%.

Only cruisers and lower can be destroyed by standard fighter weaponry. Trebuchets are only FS2 fighter weapons which can take down a corvette or bigger. Rest are either bombs or capital ship weapons. :)

The boss fights in the .hack games are quite imaginative, with boss designs a bit more interesting than the usual (ever tried fighting a flattened version of an Easter Island statue?) and some interesting attacks. There's one really really annoying boss with a horrible attack though. It charms your entire party so they attack and kill each other.
  • Metroid Prime did have some cool bosses, esspecially the one you get the Phazon suit from.

Ok, I admit defeat in the Freespace 2 thing. I posted the question on the HLP forums to see what they said. I was mistaken, I appologize for the stubborness.
