I don't believe I've heard about that one. Explain. :)

the deception required that they cinvince the germans that they really were going to invade at calais. so to make it appear real, they created a 'phantom' army, and allowing the germans to intercept troop orders/dispositions/mundane stuff to indicate the presence of another army. they put it under Patton because he was the one allied commander they really feared, so naturally they assumed that if Patton was in charge then it was for real.
Patton was damm pissed about that too, but after being repremanded for all those comments he made, and telling the shell shocked soldier he was a damm coward he knew he was lucky to still be in the war. Im sure though he thought that it should have been him to lead the Dday assault.
The tanks sunk because they where being swept off target, and the crews turned the tanks to hit the correct point on the beach, in doing this the waves washed over the side of the skirts and swamped the tanks.
They where also an order put out not to launch as the seas where too rough, but the order never reached them.

I just have a feeling about that.
EDIT: It seems Everyone forgets about Canada in this invasion. I just remember, we were never in the war were we and it was only America and Britain. [/B][/QUOTE]
No one forgot Canada. In fact, Canada's military in World War II was the largest ever mobilized by the nation. Over 400,000 men and women served in the Army. A total of over one million men and women served in the Canadian military during World War II.

Yeah, it pretty much seems that we learn from history that mankind don't learn from history.
