    Fortunately, it can be seen from Finland. :)

    Actually I'm heading for the local astronomical observatory to see this rare phenomenon... I really hope that weather is going to be sunny.

    Well, at the moment sky is fully cloudy.
    And that event is so rare that there's propably lot of clouds in that day.

    Of course they are, it always is raining and cloudy when there is something rare and visible happening in space.

    Last night it was completely cloudy, now there it isn't cloudy.
    But Cirrus-clouds of next rain front are showing.


    That teardrop effect is "much overrrated". There was only very little of that.
    Also sun has only two small sunspots near center of it.

    BTW, venus shows with bare eyes. (of course you have to use filter)

    I've been watching on various web streams since the beginning. It was so cool to see that first little bit taken out of the sun.

    that was a premise suggested in Ben Bova's Venus, as i recall

    unfortunatly, its cloudy here. very cloudy:(
