the idea has its pros and cons. not sure if i agree with it or not:rolleyes:

    Well, it's not all bad. At least they are calling for open source electronic voting systems.

    Which really is a good idea. Voting is one process that I think should be totally out in the open. Having the source code publicly available would work excellently as a deterrent to fraud.

    I was commenting on the [U]editorial[/U], not the subject of the editorial. I suppose I should've pointed that out. (I also should've noted that it was an editorial and not a news article, although some newspaper reporters have made their articles seem like the former.:eek: )

    I personally don't have any problem with electronic voting, so long as every reasonable precaution is taken to keep the hackers/crackers from screwing with it (and they'll try, no matter what OS is used; e-voting would be too tempting a target for 'em to ignore).
