RubberEagle
What's a rubber eagle used for, anyway?
in Zocalo v2.0
I've started reading spider-man with the jms-issues (something i wanted to do for a long time, and him writing was a good excuse)
and now i kinda need more...
do any of you have recommendations what to read or stay clear of?
For now i'd think i'd stay in somewhat similar territory..

a must buy when it comes to comics is neil gaimans "the sandman" (you'll find the ten volumes at "Comics Hutterer" which should be your first place to stop for comics anyway ;) they might not be cheap but they are well worth it)
But i'm more of an internet-order-guy anyway ;)
[edit] haha, 2 sentences the exact same length ;) [/edit]
last time i was there was 10 or more years ago (buyin trek merchandise.. (Yes, i'm ashamed))
it's still a good store but lately i prefer the Damage Unlimited more (miniatures for painting, rpg stuff and tons of good books.. wonderful combo :) )
my sister has a customer-card there, so i get a bit of a discount there ;)
Hellblazer, yea. definitely. John Constantine.. there's just something about the guy. :)
And Sandman comics too. There were some good spinoffs too. One about Cain and Abel searching for Goldie. I read that in the army.. wish I'd still remember the name of the tpb.. would like to get it. Those two were always my favorites. After Corinthian ofcourse.. There's just something about that chap. Love his shiny smile for one. :D
Lots of good comics in the army library btw. One that I recommend was Watchmen. A definite must. It's as good as a good book. :)
There was also some weird comic where earth was being invaded by aliens (controlled/run by Morgana(?)/evil sister of King Arthur) and then King Arthur comes back and the knights of the round table unite again as their new incarnations.
So.. what else? Frank Miller's Ronin was interesting too.
Well. All those are great stories, just as long you dont mind downbeat and cynical and pretty depressing storylines. :D
One series that has caught my eye is the Emma Frost series, they are onto their second mini series, the first was called Higher Learning, and this newer one is called Mind Games. It's all to do with the origin of the White Queen.
Of course, im my mind its hard to beat the Trigan Empire. :)
I get the Futurama issues and have just started the new SG-1 comic to see what it is like.
What is it like?
