I hate cable companies.

SanfamSanfam I like clocks.
Why?
Many reasons.

One of the few decent channels on TV, and it's most likely going to be ripped to shreds and abandoned. Though, it's been on a slow decline since Leo's departure...

True, some people may be re-hired for the new G4/TechTV combo-network, but the damage is done.

  • I don't get it, but I'm told it is/was pretty good. :(

what makes it worse is that, over the last few years, all I actually liked about TV has been sucked up and destroyed by those running it. Among those subjugated was Speedvision, this little quality channel on the corner of the lineup. It would play a wide variety of the best racing to be found all over the world (read: NOT just NASCAR). so, of course, once I become addicted to it (it was among the four other channels I watched, TLC, Discovery, Comedy Central, Scifi, with TechTV only available at school and thus disqualified), FOX buys it and "upgrades" it to American standards. What have we got now? four to ten hours of NASCAR programming every day. It took ages for them to get the BTCC, ETCC, and DTM races that I once enjoyed, but now, they are so poorly edited and run (Commercial interruptions right smack dab in the middle of something important).

Combine that with the lame, steaming pile that has become Scifi, and you get SpikeTV, Comedy Central, and Discovery (since TLC has become the home redecorating channel, apparently).

TechTv has been the only channel I've watched on Network for a long, long time.

  • lol, I thought that was the EFF... I was wondering why it was in Finnish. I want the 1984 shirt, except that I know everyone would think it's Anti-Bush.

And some people wonder why I hate Rupert Murdoch...

Yeah, it really sucks when cable channels start "catering to the masses (or the lowest common denominator)" like that, especially when there's already two or three other channels that show the same thing (not to mention broadcast channels).
