This weeks Smallville (Spoilers)
A2597
Fanboy
in Zocalo v2.0
I'm not going to bother with spoiler tags, as this whole thread will be spoilers.
So, if you plan on seeing this past ep, don't read.
All I can say is WOW.
This is one of the best television episodes for any show since...I dunno...ever. Only ones that rank up there with it are a couple B5 eps, like And the Rock cried out no hiding place, and the deconstruction of falling stars. AMAZING ep.
I loved the charechtor development with Lex and his dad. I really thought since season 1 that lex killed Julian, but the flashbacks really shed some new light on why Lex's dad hates him so much, and why Lex hates his dad so much. It also showed that Lianal, before Julian was born, really tried to be a father to lex, but even before then Lex knew what kind of man his dad was. Really well done!
The ending where Lex dropped the bomb on Lional was excellently acted and scripted, the look of anguish on Lional's face was great, I mean, you knew he had a plan, but you could see that he really regretted what he had done. (Admitadly because it put him in a bad situation). And then the look on Lex's face just showing him that there would never be a father/son love there....and he walked out. I truely expected Lional to pick up his gun and shoot himself right there...amazing moment.
And then of course Clarks realization that his Mother really was a nice person. I'm wondering how long before he relizses that Garel's who take over the planet thing is all a test, to make certain Clark can face the temptation later on in life and make the right decision. The whole depth that has been done in this ep and the past seasons is just incredible...
so...any comments?
