check out the Satt photo... I wonder which one it 'fell out of'..:)

the site itself looks very 'cleaned up', it looks like the stock that actually went keblooie is on the left of frame, with some full ones both top and bottom of shot.

No signs of debris, no bodies, nuthin. I would imagine this was taken well, well after the fact. I can't see anything that looks like the remnants of a station. I hope they didn't bulldoze it all just for the cameras, or even worse the people who gave the Satt pic to Reuters didnt 'edit' it.

well shit... youre right RC...

well do they blow trains up there regularly..?

look at the big arse black charry marks on the ground... it still looks like a partially cleaned up bomb site.

also... does anyone else find it odd that this little border town could be of any possible interest to US intelligence prior to this incident ? Methinks perhaps you should think for yourself and wonder if the date on the pic is anymore than some diplomatic smokescreen.

The smile is a wry cynical and slightly bitter one... as in Sattelite pics like these generally come from one place... US intelligence... spy satts.

SB: Those black marks are, I think, piles of coal, gravel, or similar.

I would have thought that after Iran's train explosion they would have learn something handling large amounts on explosive material.

Do they ever learn? (I think not)

I'm sorry this happened, but what do you expect honestly from a country like North Korea? Millions are starving, there is almost non existent healthcare except for the "elite", and the government controls EVERYTHING.

I remember a few years ago when a TV news crew went to North Korea. They were showing videos of the streets in one of the cities (I think the capital)....made a dozen people were walking on the sidewalk...one or two bicycles...and MAYBE one car.

They had these 4 lane streets that were in perfect condition yet maybe one car would be driving on it. You have to retain a certain rank or "honor" to be able to use a car or get the fuel to run one. The people on the sidewalk did not look happy, but very serious. None would look straight at the camera.

yeah well... I hope North Korea doesnt implode and take a significant portion of the rest of the world with it...
• I remember reading about NK-US negotiations, in which the Koreans would cut the American chair legs down an inch every day, screw with the temperature, etc. Crazy...

Hate to burst your consperitorial buble shadow boxer but if you read just a litte more carefully you would know that this satalite photo came from here http://www.digitalglobe.com/ which is a comercial satalite photo buisness. They are putting up their own imaging satalites with the first being the cool looking Quickbird which happens to be the source of these images.

Secondly the black spot your looking at might not be a scorch mark, it could be where a coaling yard used to be, and its likely to be gravel heavily contaminated by petrolum products and coal dust from years of heavy usage.
