quicktime

Lord RefaLord Refa Creepy, but in a good way
Any free programs that can be used to view those? I used to have a working .. well.. somewhat licensed copy of quicktime once. But it went bye bye with majority of all the other important/usefull programs when my pc crashed a while back..

I use Zoom Player to watch any quicktime movies, as well as everything else.

I'm not so angered about format, but from that many of these trailers are streamed, so downloading them isn't so easy.

What's wrong with the free quicktime player?

• BigglesBiggles <font color=#AAFFAA>The Man Without a Face</font>
A lot of people seem to hate the quicktime player for some reason. I've never had any problems with it myself.

Quick time is not as good as zoom player.

Well, that convinced me! I'll uninstall my copy of Quicktime Pro right now and put on Zoom player, because it's so much more gooder!

Oh. Damn. Windows. Well, I suppose I'll stay in the dark ages, without all that wonderful Zoom-y goodness.
• BigglesBiggles <font color=#AAFFAA>The Man Without a Face</font>
Zoom Player is a beautiful media player if you're using windows. If you're not, it doesn't matter since both MacOS and Linux have just as good alternatives. :)

Ooh, Zoom Player comes in flavours...alright, I'll give it a look :) When I'm back on my own computer.

And as for these streamed trailers, what site E.T?

I know, streambox and Net transport are able to save streaming media files.

No, it's something to do with opening the file you get in notepad to get the link to the real thing.
• RubberEagleRubberEagle What's a rubber eagle used for, anyway?
yep..
if you open the webpage in html, you'll see a link to a .mov file.
download that, open it in notepad, and look for a link to another .mov file and try downloading that ;)
• works also if you bookmark the movie then open the bookmarks file in notepad. you should also find the movie link in there...

oh rats. Totally forgot about the free quicktime. Dunno.. I guess I musta figured that it had gone really sucky like ad-aware and it's newest version (I dunno, I just preferred the look on the original, it was simpler too).

Or with movies from http://apple.com/trailers, just add an m before the number. So if you find the link ".../trailer_480.mov" in the html, then download ".../trailer_m480.mov" to get the movie file.

I meant the ad-aware... Dunno. I never got into liking gay looking non-working shit like it's now. I prefer compact and simple.

Adaware isn't complicated either. Sure, its got a prettier interface, but its not bloated by any means. They made it a little easier for the not-so net-savvy people to use, and were smart enough to include an update function into the program. Once you set Adaware the way you want it to scan, all you have to do is just start the scan and let it do its thing. If you can't figure out Adaware, then you shouldn't be using a computer.

Well put! I also use SpyBot with Ad-Aware, because it alone cannot always find all the harmful stuff. Here you can see a comparison: http://www.flexbeta.net/main/articles.php?action=show&id=39
