Then again, they would own it. They'd cancel something not because it is related to something else, but rather because it is not a cash cow like Survivor. Assuming B5:LR grows much like B5 did, I'd be slightly afraid.

I hope JMS has rights to his series and alternate networks lined up.

It's just a thought, but a great deal of good may come of this, it's unlikely but not outwith the realms of extreme possibility. If he allows B5 to still be shown on the channel, then Vivendi may gain a greater idea of what a huge fan base B5 has, which may make him a little more sypathetic towards the release of a certain game.
What do you people think?

I have a feeling that you guys are making a little too much of this.
Vivendi is a HUGE corporation. I doubt they even knew (on a corporate level) that Sierra was making a B5 game. When B5 was cancelled, Vivendi probably just told Sierra, "You're not profitable--cut the fat". So Sierra, seeing B5 as one of the expensive projects, and not having the vision to see the long term payoff, cancelled it.
I doubt Vivendi even knew what Sierra was cancelling.
I would bet good money that Vivendi is going to let Sci-Fi run the show the way they always have, for the most part.
AOL owns ICQ...but the ICQ development team has been allowed to run things the way they always have.
The same thing will probably happen to the Sci-Fi channel.
Ohh no....I hope they don't screw around with Farscape.

I don't like this. They could turn into a big bunch of stupid idiots and stick their fingers in where they have no right too, and kill something, just because they don't like it.
We're going to have to keeep a very close eye on them!! I hope nothing bad comes froms this. I really do!

A little late to worry about something like that...
Relax, everyone. Warner owns B5. SciFi just has airing rights

Also think of this: from a corporate standpoint, which is better, to keep airing a show you know will get you ad revenue, and which is cheap because it is already done filming, or ditching it in favor of who knows what, pissing off your fans, and spending a lot more money in producing whatever the replacement would be. I think re-runs are more profitable. We should be safe for now.
