speaking of bad writing, deep space nine is now on Spike TV. You ever notice that chief Obrian has no staff whatsoever for the first 3-4 seasons. He fixes everything himself. How does he not take a phasor and kill everyone on that station. Hes supposed to be the Chief of Operations on a fairly large space station, I dont know how big it is, but it dwarfs the Enterprise.

Hire some extras paramount, give the guy a break.
What, you mean the irish can't make as good engineers as the scotts? ;)

That's Scots, one T, get it right! :)
• David of MacDavid of Mac Elite Ranger Ca
No, see, it's a play on words. Montgomery "Scotty" Scott, with two "t"s.

Who, in a rather redundant turn of fate, is Scottish.
• Played by a Canadian. :)

• SpiritOneSpiritOne Magneto ABQ NM
most forums allow the owner to create a bad word filter, its simple really, sanfam just uploaded her name to it, and boom. *******
• Ah..understood. that's kind of what I figured

Well, it was a bit worse than that. :)
I believe it was DG who originally censored her name, by the way.

Lets not go into that again, shall we?

Aye... it was great having an Irish guy at the helm of the Enterprise and DS9, and for once it was a comfort to have a real Irish person playing an Irish character, none of this stupid Hollywood 'crock of gold' accents.

Back to TS, it was a bit corny at the end, but man those battles and the cgi were the best ever done for B5 imo... some of the closeup shots were superb! Can't wait to get it on dvd and have those battle sequences booming out on my system!!! Gonna be sweet!!! :)
• SamsomaelSamsomael Earthforce Officer
Overall I'd rate ITB as the best movie of the series and the redone The Gathering as a second. TS had some good spin off story arc possibilties.

Did anyone feel that A Call To Arms was a little disjointed? Something apart from the music (No disrespect to Evan Chen, just not my cup o' tea :) ), the writing or the storyline itself?
• BekennBekenn Sinclair's Duck
Well, the idea that the Shadow planet killer would even have a single point of failure was more than a bit ludicrous....
• SamsomaelSamsomael Earthforce Officer
Yep, that might have been it ... :)

But it is a common theme with invunerable things; Death Star, Achilles, Shadow planet killer, Superman (bits of your OWN planet can kill you?? How did these guys get to the corner shop?):)

Even Navies slip up sometimes. The Royal Navy in WWI had a battlecruiser called HMS Invincible. The bugger got sunk in the Battle of Jutland. :)

I prefered Chris Franke's music, but JMS had to make Crusade different to Babylon5. Not like the Star Trek series which, except ds9, are basically identical. And I know what I'm talking about *looks to dvd collection which includes all 7 seasons of tng and 7 seasons of voyager on vhs*
One of the best ways to make a show feel different is the music...

As for A Call to Arms, personally overlooking the stupid flaw thing I'd say it's my favourite B5 movie. to quote myself from a convo once "It's the First Contact of B5 movies"
Old Skool saving Earth action against the franchise's main enemies.
And is it just me or does Sheridan look better with the beard?

The DVD version is the redone Gathering. The old music is gone replaced by some Chris Franke pieces and there is some extra footage. I'm sure someone here knows a link to the changes that were made.
