A few clarifications :)
Server 1: irc.flyingtemple.com = defiant.flyingtemple.com
Server 2: boshaus.dyndns.org = irc.alexbos.net
So, no need to have both aliases for each server :)
The following ports are available:
Bos non-SSL: 6667, 6697, 9999
Bos SSL: 6697, 9999
Def non-SSL: 6667, 6697
Def SSL: 6697
Might be a few others, but those are the ones I know of.
If you're having trouble getting on, your ISP might block that port. Try one of the others.
I'd like to point out that while they may be aliases, I've had issues accessing one of the duplicates but none accessing the other. It's an on-and-off problem, which is why I keep all four in the list. I'm suspecting it's a simple DNS issue, but it's still a good reason to do it. Plus, no harm comes to those who add them ;)
Well, previously I was at school, and I was getting connection refused. Now that I'm at work, the connection times out, so I suspect those ports are allowed here. Not sure what the problem at school was.
Likely IRC was blocked from your school. Many do it in order to stem both piracy and troublemakers utilizing the campus internet connection to torment others.
