War Without End (SPOILER WARNING!!!!!!!!)
I just finished watch both parts, as I just got Sci-Fi. I had seen most of the B5 eps, I just hadn't seen these two. God did it explain a lot. It still amazes me that, in a show, a first season episode would reference a third season episode.
Still the show almost creates more questions than it answers, like who did Delenn see when she had her time flash? How did Sinclar get a Tri-luminary to tranform himself? And what became of Zathras?

Anna Sheridan, Johns "dead" wife. I will say no more.
Sinclair got the transformation machine from Delenn. It and the triluminaries came from Epsilon 3. The machine was used up transforming Sinclair, but the triluminaries he carried back with him to the past where they became religious symbols.

Hmm. War-without-end part 2 was the first B5 episode I ever saw. I wont say it got me hooked, but it was so confusing, I just HAD to watch more to figure out who everyone was & what they were doing.
A friend dug me out a copy of "the gathering" soon afterwards. Then I was hooked.
Also what about the letter Valen wrote to Sinclar, without the letter Sinclar would have never gone back in time, but...oh I give up!

Jack, the "always here" comment from the Vorlons was probably because Sinclair told them what was going to happen. Just like his comment to Marcus, "I'll go back because I always go back." And remember that the Mimbari have all of the prophesies of Valen.
Biggles, the machine wasn't used up, because delenn uses it in her transformation.
Claudie, depends on what theory you have of time travel.

The triluminaries came from Epsilon 3. They were made there in the Great Machine.

Or something confusing like that. Made in the past sent to the future, then back way in the past I don't know.
Definately imported goods though.

The Triluminary was created on Eplison 3.
As said Zathrus brought 3 of em with him.
yada yada yada the 3 uses are known - read one of the posts above.
They therefore existed in the same one. Between their construction and the time they were taken back in time. When they were taken back only the ones from the past remained. And since they were triggered by Sinclair DNA and used one for transformation, the final one could be used by wither a human or Minbari - Provided all three Triluminaries were the same and could transform.
You must remember that the Grey councle one could just be programmed to detect Sinclair DNA and nothing else.

Interesting, that according to this kind of time travel, based on a linear concept of time, matter (and I suppose energy too?) can be created out of nothing, since through the time travel the one triluminary becomes three, then just one in the end...
I'd post a little picture illustrating this if I had any webspace to host pictures... Most people would prolly pick it up in a flash then.
