    I know there's gay bars........
I know the darkness. Like their music but not keen on his voice. I hope more bands produce from these. I used to like all that glam metal rock stuff.

Don't forget "Dancing with Tears in My Eyes"

    Yeah thats another gooden!
    :)
  • This is me showing my age here, but I prefer that era of music to the pap that's out nowadays.

    Pete Waterman needs to die.

Music will never be as good as it was in the 80's.

Did you see that TV show about reality TV and it showed him drooling over the Cheeky Girls of all people, if this is the shape of music to come I despair for the world.

Lol no I didn't see that. That track was bad but it did make me laugh! I think music today isn't very unique. I can't believe if ever I catch the charts some of the stuff that no1. It would never have been once of a day.
I don't mind some stuff though in clubs though rather monotinus (sp)? sometimes.

You ever see Pop Idol/Pop star?! I didn't mind that first time round specially in the auditions, well that part still isn't bad cos alot are sooo bad its funny. But its hardly their own music that gets released. There are too many manufactured bands these days.
    :)
  • It's funny to see some of the stuff that gets rejected, my cat could sing better than some of these people. :)

In my mind, classic music of the 80's is stuff like Blondie, A-Ha, Big Country, Dire Straits, Abba, Frankie Goes to Hollywood, Eurthymics etc, you just won't find many modern bands with that kind of staying power now. Even how the bands look now, its like a cloning bank is operated by Pete Waterman, they all look pretty much the same, and sound the same as well.

Yeah alot of bands do look the same. And what I really can't stand are these boy bands, they look so namby pamby. Have you heard of Busted?! They're another boy band cept they can at least play instruments and musics not too terrible.

I like all of the names you mention above! Don't forget Duran Duran. One of my faves and there still going strong!
  • There's really too many good bands and singers to mention, you're bound to leave someone out. True, you got utter crap like any other time, but there was a hell of a lot of good stuff.

Though even the Novelty records could be fun, who remembers Spitting Images "I've never met a nice South African"?
  • MartianDustMartianDust Elite Ranger
I watched alot of Spitting Image but can't recal that song.

Crap songs I remember are "Pump up the Volume" by Marrs. And that Star Trek one, no actually thats pretty cool! :)
There was also the Jive Bunny. Or was that early 90's?!
  • The Spitting Image South African song was a B side to their Chicken Song.

Jive Bunny I THINK was late 80's and it was irritating as hell wasn't it, and that Star Trekking song was funny the first time you heard it, but constant replaying was wearing.

Remember Paul McCartney and the Frog Chorus with "We all Stand Together"?

Have you ever been to a convention disco where they play the Star trek song and lots of ppl stand in cirlce then run into each other is just a few of the moves. Quite funny. They always tend to play Queen songs too.

Actually I quite like McCartney's frog song. Wouldn't if I heard it alot though!
    :)
