    I'm glad i'm not the only person thouroughly unimpressed wth Farcry, Everywhere i look people are going ga-ga over it, I played the Demo, and its just another dull FPS, i didn't see anything new really.

    Maybe i'm just Uberbored with FPS's

    I quite liked the game, but I don't know if I'll buy it. The AI isn't nearly as good as it allegedly is, and the ROCKS LOOK LIKE NON-EUCLIDEAN GROUPINGS OF SHADOWS. :(

    you guys having problems with dumb AI or something?

    FarCry is definately a thinking mans FPS!

    of the AI is working for you guys like it works for me, you have to very carefully plan your attack, otherwise you are dead meat. the second demo took me two tries to get past the beach, and the second try alone took 40 minutes to get to the cave.

    typical FPS? I think not.

    In the first demo, I decided to try out the boat with the machine gun on the first small island. On the main island, some enemies saw me, ran to their own boat, jumped in it and a fun boat chase began...and ended quickly because i was too busy shooting at the enemy boat to see the beach infront of me...

    I'm looking forward to that kind of thing in multiplayer and getting my hands on the editing tools :D

    seemed like a typcal FPS to me, Im' sorry i just didn't see anything that special about it. Maybe i'll give the 2nd demo a try, but based on the first demo, I won't be buying it.

    I used the sniper rifle to kill all the guys on the peninsula with the burned out boat, took out the three guys who came running at me with the pistol, stole their P90s and M4A1s and sniped everyone else with those. It did take me three tries to win, two not counting the time I tried to swim around the island :D

    I must say that my previously "meh" opinion on this game has been changed by the raving hordes of people who say that this is Game of the Year material.

    Why would I want to play a cel-shaded game is the real question. I don't dislike it.... I'm just indifferent. I'll take good gameplay. :p

    my point being that it's NOT a cell-shaded game, it's an option that was thrown in with the engine.

    I love both...meaning I have to work this weekend to be able to afford FarCry...

    UT2k4 is LOADS of fun though...just spent...ohhh. 6 hours playing via wireless lan with my neighbor. :D

    good times...

    like when I stole the enemy tank and parked it inside their base blasting away...kinda ironic to be killed by your own weapon. :D

    BTW, BEST MUTATOR.

    UT2004RPG. not included, but it's AWESOME. been using it since 2k3, he updated it for vehicles though. :)

    default for ALL vehicles is the ; key...

    however there are "Special" horns you have to know the binding for...and bind a key to them...

    alternatehorn or something like that...

    farcry wasn't bad in terms of graphics, models, leveldesign and ai but the story..

    heavy spoiler inside:

    fighting mutated monkeys at first isn't so bad since that's not the only type of enemy. then you fight bigger mutated things.. and guess what, they get more human like.

    suddenly you fight giant 2.5m beasts with rocket launchers on their arms only to be followed by mutated humans with miniguns as hands all the way up to invisible mutated humans with miniguns. oh and soimetimes there's a real human mercernary, but are seen rarely once you meet the mutants

    i was a bit disappointed with the way that the game went storywise.. felt too much like an upcoming doom3...
