[B]Not quite the right thread to post this...but it's the closest one. I was home for the weekend and my dog's arthritis has gotten much worse :( She barely got up to greet me... Here's hoping the test results come back ok so we can get her some stronger (and more expensive of course...) medicine so she can go back to chasing frisbees. :)

I'm sorry to hear that, I know how bad MY arthritis is as a human, So i can empathize. Hope that the meds work and that she feels better.

Aww sorry to hear that. I have my fingers crossed for you. Hopefully the tests will be ok.
Nice pic. You know that pic would also suit the snow thread. :)
Cat update.
Took him to vets today thinking everything was going to be ok but sadly the biopsy he had done last wk means he has an aggressive Tumor - Fibro Sarcoma I think the name was. :( Alot of stuff again went over my head and I couldn't take it all in. But it doesnt look good. He's on more antibiotics for now. Not sure what meds in the future. have to go back again next wk. Hoping it may be removable or some of it at least as I think I read that sometimes the immune system can fight the remaining tissues. But this is probably a very low percentage and him fighting it.
All I can do is pray it will be a slow process and he will have many yrs. And there was me thinking he was going to be fine!

Arn't agressive tumours the kind that spread like crazy? That's not good. :(
?? :( I don't know. The vet said he could have long months or lots of yrs I think.
b/f's brother had an aggressive tumour which is now thankfully no longer considered aggressive. They removed what they could and don't need to remove anymore which would have been his bladder. But maybe he was one of the lucky ones.
I think I will phone the vets tomorrow since he said I could phone to ask anything, as I'm not sure exactly what he said and the more i think, I feel like I'm forgetting more! I know I could look online but even he said there's alot of misinformation. Besides I don't think I could hack that right now, sometimes it takes ages to find exactly what you're looking for cos there's too much info!

Definitely don't go looking it up online, that's just silly. You'll just get more and more worried. My advice is to sleep on it, then call the vet tomorrow and ask them to explain it clearly when you're calmer. Having that sort of thing explained to you when you've just found out about it is not the best time as you're far to anxious to take it in, let alone understand it. I know this from (human) experience.
Thanks, no I didn't intend on looking it up online. Well I did have abit of a look but couldn't find what I wanted anyway. Says they are removable but god knows whether it is in the mouth! If it is looks like a 30% chance. But yeah I know this may not be true and it may be more or less.
Anyway I will phone them tomorrow and write it down.
I was thinking I should've took a blimmin tape recorder to the vets today! :)
Just to let you know, he's got months, not yrs left. :( :(
Because of the type of Tumour and where it is located if it were to be removed it would totally disfigure him in such a way that he would have to be tube fed thorugh neck, so I know I can't and am sure if Jasper could speak he would rather not have that! Vet said the same, that he wouldn't do that personally. Radiotherapy may have helped but the nearest one according to vet is near London! I can't do that every wk either. That again wouldn't be fair on him. I was told there maybe one alot nearer, have to check it out.
But at the end of the day I 'd rather he was happy in the time he has left, unless if there is anything the survival is relatively good or not much suffering inbetween treatments.
