Still no bloody version with Finnish subtitles with 'em...
Cannot convert my little brother as a B5 fan.
It's possible to use "external" subtitles with DVD.
If you have big monitor or tv-out you can use computer to show "external" subtitles over DVD-video.
At least Media Player Classic is able to do that:

I think finnish subtitles for entire season one are ready in few weeks.
I just did finnish subtitles for Babylon Squared.

I've been waiting for something like this for a long time. I hope your subtitles are high quality stuff... or are you just copying Mika Metsäpelto's work?

Hmm, I assume you mean subtitles translator for TV.
So as you can guess, I'm copying nowhere.
Well, I'm not the only one who is working on this.
This program can read microDVD subs directly and works with PowerDVD:

Is that "sample" I private mailed good enough?
Don't want to watch B5 episodes from my crappy monitor.

Well, almost all modern graphic cards have S-video out.
"Older" (three weeks old) and released subtitles can be found here:

Got to buy a laptop someday then. ;)

It must definitely have Centrino-processor. (P-M/Pentium-M)
At least those with P4s don't have enough power to watch longer DVDs.
And when buying laptop, make sure that screen resolution is big enough, XGA (1024x768) don't have enough space in desktop. WXGA (1280x800) isn't much better, vertical resolution is same in practise.
So I would advise to go for SXGA+ (1400x1050) display.
I have Acer Travelmate 803 LCi (1,6 P-M, 512MB, R9000) which I bought when year changed.
And It's also fast enough to play SoF2 without any problems, so it's nice to play it in LAN, my friend plays with my desktop machine (Northwood 1,8@2,07, 512MB R9700Pro), I myself play with laptop.
Guess who wins match always. :D
Well, in fact my laptop is faster when it comes to processor, 1,6 P-M is about as fast as 2,4 P4
I'm starting translating Chrysalis tomorrow after funerals or on sunday.
So first season should be ready propably on next weekend. (plus two weeks delay for public release)
U mentioned divxplayer, my advice to you is to get rid of all the extra players and just keep WMP.
The only thing u need then is a codecpack called ffdshow and an audiocodec called ac3filter. With these you can play most formats out there (xvid/divx etc) in WMP/Winamp etc (not svcd/dvd tho, or i don't think so).
Warning! I don't know if there are popups when u click on teh Vobsub-link (like X-rated ones), I personally don't get anything but I use a popup-stopper.
Download Latest ffdshow here (guaranteed popup-free)
and VobSub (although I think there is a slightly newer version, this should work fine)
aaand finally AC3 (guaranteed popup-free)
And don't worry, all of it is free and without annoying adware.

Well, link on site doesn't seem to work so just use eMule.
After proofreading insiders get them, other have to wait two weeks for "public" release.
So in after few weeks almost all should be ready for public release.
At least all earlier episodes should be released before end of this month.
