EA Magnum Heavy Lifter

The MercifulThe Merciful Earthforce Officer
I saw the silhuette of this ship in the offial size chart hosted at B5-blender.com. Does anybody know what it look like and if there's any picture of it on the net?

Note to A2597:
the Snub-nose Whitestar is the bluestar
And I don't believe the centauri fighter is so big.

Merciful: If he made the chart, he should have a reference model somewhere, so hopefully we can see it.

The chart isn't drawn by A297, it was drawn, as it read on the picture, by T. Earls. It's official alright. Bluestars and Nova Dreadnoughts and so on are fan inventions.

That, I believe is the ship that was taking pliots up away from the ground in the establishing shot in ITB just before the Ivonova and Ivonov have their last chat. Considering we only saw the back end and a few far shots, and those were at night, I doubt you'll find many good pictures.

The Bluestar is not a fan invention, nor is the Nova. They're both canon ships, which have been seen on B5 a few times.

• Uhm, sentri is too big. Its just like that controversial sharlin 300 meter idea, both are nothing but hot air
• plus they forgot my favorite fighter 'spitfire'

I don't know where the Bluestar name came from, but everybody calls it with that name. It might be a fan invention, or it might not, but the Nova Class Dreadnaught is an official name AFAIK. Although I can't provide any evidence to back it up and I'm not 100% sure about it.

But what the heck is EA Magnum Heavy Lifter? I have never heard about it, nor seen it before and it wasn't in the series AFAIK. Or are those supposed to be those transport ships shortly seen in one scene in ITB on the ground on Earth and firing it's thrusters to take off?

Bluestar is JMS canon.

Bluestar is a smaller version of a whitestar right??

Didn't we see one of these in the space scene above Minbar in SiL?

Wrong again...

BlueStar is an ointment...

Just saw the advertisement on TV...

Seriously, wasn't the BlueStar that Duck billed personal craft that Sheridan flew out for the Sunday Drive when he passed on after the 20 year life extension...???

Later...

It's not automatically official simply by the nature of being drawn by Tim Earls. I'd think JMS and/or WB would have to deem it official. Some of his work isn't terribly...let's say some is almost as much technobabble as a lot of Star Trek, including some of the Warlock weapons.
• BigglesBiggles The Man Without a Face
Just to sum up...
Bluestar = JMS cannon, the name of the ship that Sheridan is piloting on his Sunday drive in SiL. It's a personal Whitestar.
Nova = JMS cannon, the ship that the Omega design was based on. You can see lots of them in ItB.
That heavy lifter thing = my guess is the transports seen in ItB as well, although as mentioned we only saw the back end and a side silluoette through a window.

I think the ones in Endgame were just regular atmoshperic shuttles. I beleive the heavy lifters only appeared in ItB and just the aft section was(one while it was being loading with equipment and then the engines starting up) shown.

BTW, replace chart2 with chart3 in that address and you'll notice the class name of the Hyperion is wrong. It is a heavy cruiser NOT a destroyer. Garibaldi even said it was a heavy cruiser when one came through the jump gate in season 1. And there is no way the Nova is a gunboat.

Well...

We had the Netter Geometry for it even before I was booted with the rest of Oakhurst. I just don't know how far it got as to being incorporated into the game.

The duck was definitely in the game. There's a pic of it floating around somewhere.

A2597,

Re: Sentri size.

I'm not sure if you remember the ship size debates, but what it comes down to , is there was never a "real" ship size. Foundation/Netter never modeled the ships to scale -it was fairly arbitrary (IIRC, the Starfury model had a wingspan of 7 kilometers, or something equally absurd).

What Tim Earls (and I, independently) did, was start making some size comparisons starting with known sizes (B5 was 5 miles ,long, the Starfury Pilot was ~2 meters tall) and extrapolated dimensions from there. Remarkably, we often came pretty close to each other (I didn't get access to most of his dimensions until after the game was axed). So the dimensions you see for the Sentri should be about right -and if it's from Tim's chart -cannon.

Marc

Remember that the B5 models were all made for dramatic effect, not accuracy.

Yeah...

Ain't many fighters with beam weapons and artificial gravity that can jump either!

The centri can't jump, so you can't be talking about that. Which one are you talking about?
