The Aardvark, Green, Purple, Llort, Watercooler etc jokes come from the old Sierra forums. People would ask the ITF devs questions and the devs would reply with something about the above jokes.
There was also a post saying that the Narn had been removed from the game due to budget cuts and replaced with the Llort.
There is a much more detailed history floating around somewhere but I couldn't find it.
Thats ok! Least I know abit more now. though still abit confused nevertheless!
So did alot of you guys already know each other through these other forums first?
Biggles, sorry yeah you did post the link once that I'm aware. Recognise it now and I thought I'd saved the link to read later as it was long and I was new here at that time. Forgot all about it til you posted it just! I know I made some joke about it........saying hadn't you got any good news or something. :)
Anyway I will read it now as I got more interest in this forum now so I hope you will understand that and why I forgot about it so easily before! Sorry!! :)
I came to this place when ITF got cancelled. But I was mostly a lurker then.

I have to admit that when I wrote that (some forgotten number of years ago now), I really didn't believe that this statement would turn out to be true:
With any luck, you are reading this years from when it was written to find out about the origins of Firstones.com.
I wrote a whole long essay about myself, but it got deleted. Suffice to say, I started out on the Scifi.com forums, became friends with Argone while creating a Babylon 5 RPG, introduced him here, and then became a regular when he (and the RPG) died.
I'm sorry ITF didn't work out. I knew about it but like I said I didn't know the details. (Done my homework now Biggles. Oh and hey I had chicken pox at the time lol so I prolly wasn't thinking clearly. :)
No seriously though am sure ITF would've been great! But you never know what the future may hold if TMOS gets good results. We can only keep our fingers crossed.

Yeah, low level strike aircrafts F-15 Echo has also terrain following radar. (with installation of LANTIRN)
But Aardvark's swing-wing design should give it much better speed at low altitudes.
Typical F-111 mission profile would include ingress and egress phases with supersonic speed (over 330m/s) at altitude of 20-30 meters. (of course altitudes depends on smoothness of terrain and trees, so it should be well possible to fly under altitude of ten meters above water)

In fact even one unarmed EF-111 Raven (radar jammer version) has been credited with kill, when Iraq pilot thought he could catch it when it was flying fast and low. (resulting to his collision to ground)

I wondered before why you was talking about Aardvarks. Assumed it was some game!
