If it was entirely computer stuff, I'd be happy. But that much random stuff?
• Definitely one of the most sickest things I've ever seen (and I've seen a lot of sick things). That poor fellow...

Luckily I don't live like that.
• SanfamSanfam I like clocks.
That's simply an amazing example of obsessive/compulsive hoarding. When my parents were still the landlords of a few places in my region, one of te residents was like that. He moved into the house and filled it with old newspapers, model kits, laserdiscs, and kittens. Live kittens. Some twenty of them.

When he moved out, we had to clean out the place. It took two dumpsters, though I honestly wish I could have preserved the model kits. There were thousands of them...
• we can top that sanfam. :)

I can't remember how many trips to the dump, but I know this.

my dad can acomplish an amazing amount in a 14 hour workday. Paint/wallpaper an entire house, put down a new floor, you know. ALOT for a days work.

one tenent that moved out took my dad, and some additional hired help, 3 MONTHS to clean up.

and there is still some junk buried in the yard...we get rid of it when it surfaces....

Buried?
• Hehe, my uncle still lives with my grandmother in the second floor of a two-family. He has PILES of magazines, books (several of the least dusty about Communism...), plants, and anything else you can imagine piled everywhere. The entire front porch is coated with plants, and the bottom porch extends further out than than top one, so there is a slanted roof that the plants are slowly creeping on to... the back porch has a lot of dead plants, but it is so delapitated that he doesn't even dare go out there. I went on it when I was a kid, and almost fell through. Their living room is divided into sections by stacks, the spare bedroom is piled with stacks of random books and magazines, vacuum cleaners (???), etcetera. The attic is literally FILLED with crap, from stacks and stacks to pornographic magazines to non-perishable food, to anything else you can imagine. Portions of the attic don't actually have floors, just insulation and the ceiling below, so crap is balanced on the beams forming the structure. There is a cactus up there my dad calls the Child Killer, because it has 6-inch spines all over it. It was my dad's (who collects and sells cacti and euphorbia), but we couldn't transport it when we moved. His room is totally jampacked with crap, with only enough room to reach the bed, the mattress of which is filled with coints. The only clothes he owns are identical jeans, and identical denim button-up shirts, probably a dozen of each. The basement is loaded with tons of things that should never see the light of day, to the point that when we rebuild one of the walls (I lived there until I was 8), we used a bunch of empty oil drums and other large, useless stuff he had down there in it, to save on cement. The yard (approx. the size of a postage stamp. It took my dad about 20 steps to walk the entire perimeter when he pulled us kids around it on a toboggin) is 1/4 a garden so totally filled with random plants that he's given up on it, and these weeds with purple berries the stain of which takes about a month to remove from skin (Laotian kids down the road used to rub them in our skin) are taking over. Not as bad as that link, but quite... odd. He's probably said about 10 words to me since I was born. Well, once, if you count the word "Hello" only once.

Coints?

Sorry to hear that Exile. Certainly don't like the sound of that cactus!! Not that spikey anyway! :)

Wow I thought I was bad! I hope I never get like that as I am abit of a horder, so I actually found those photos quite scarey!!
There are certain places that are stacked - lots of videos on shelves to the ceiling on one wall and vids under a couple chairs.
My room at the mo has got clothes all over cos I got too many. Though I do need a proper wardrobe and draws as the DIY crap has fallen apart practicularly! So that would clear alot of that up.
I also have lots of books and mags and alot of that is in the garage and under the stairs.

My sis and her guy.......well they have one room thats stacked with boxes and papers and she's been trying to get him to get rid of it for yrs as its his stuff.

A friend reckoned once that ppl that move around frequently or since they were young that they carry less than ppl that live in the same place for yrs. And this makes sense to me.
:)

Anyway this has definitely freaked me abit and am gonna make damn sure I don't get like that or even half way lol. Maybe... maybe just one room hehe!! ;)

Yes. Coints. It's what the Communists in those books use.
• BigglesBiggles The Man Without a Face
That could explain why I have hardly any crap except for computer stuff. I moved around a lot when I was younger.

Sanfam...

you trashed a 1000 model kits ?

you are hereby deleted from my list of friends

thats criminal.
• SanfamSanfam I like clocks.
I didn't trash 'em. My dad and our old bastard neighbors did.

My dad has successfully thrown away deeds and titles before, so that's just a few thousand drops in the pond ;)

I was only ten-ish, though, and I wanted to save 'em.

I actually didd recover the LD player and some of the discs, but with one rental, a disc got stuck and he tried to remove it by disassembling it?! That was the end of that...
• PJHPJH The Lovely Thing
That's quite amazing, but believe it or not, I've seen a lot worse case than that.

A few years ago there was on tv-news a story about an old man from Germany who had aqcuired so much stuff, that inside his house there were only close, narrow tunnels going throughout the house and between the rooms. That's right, tunnels. That was so amazing sight, that I've remembered it ever since.

I just hoard ammunition and books.. but thats okay, they are mostly academic works at this point.

As for the ammo thing, well ammo is kinda expensive, so when it goes on sale, I buy a bunch, then I only shoot about half of what I buy.. you see how it gets out of control.
• Someday, when Tyvar goes senile, he'll sit on his front porch with a shotgun and the Communist Manifesto, rambling on about his heroic actions in 'Raq. :D

You think that's bad? At least that lady's house seems to be somewhat sanitary, if cluttered.
