My condolences. I lost my grandmother this last week, as well. Stroke and then taken off life support. Probably better off that way, but doesn't change the loss :/
Regards,
Morden

Yeah, even when this don't feel fair it would have been much worse to him if he would have had to be long time without capability to do anything.
He was always doing something, it wasn't an option for him to just lie in place and be without doing anything.
:(
*hugs*
Funerals where today, he was buried to county's old cemetary where his sisters are. (except his brother who died sixty years ago in war when artilleryshell's fragment hit him to thigh and he died to loss of blood)
I heard today that someone had been paralyzed 15 years before he died.
So at least granddad had to suffer only twenty days.
My condoliances E.T :(

He was born in farmhouse wenty kilometers from here. (in area which was lost in war)
He fought in both wars where he lost his brother. (1939-40 and 41-44)
So after war he had to start from beginning and build everything again which required three things, work, more work and lot more of work.
And like I've said he was always doing something. Even in last summer he drove tractor and did other farm works.
He would had 89th birthday in this month.
Thanks for sharing so I can remember him well too.

This one is from funerals:
http://www.freewebs.com/tuunaes/Images/cemetary.jpg
These were third funerals where I've been, and second time carrying coffin.
(and I'll suppose there'll be more funerals in next five years)
Hopefully you won't see any funerals for a long time!
*Hugs*
