Now to play devils advocate here (even though i totally agree with the judge and i also believe that the defendent was given numerous warnings before the judge held him in content)

but what about the defendents freedom of speech, i ask was it infringed because of this?

and i answer: no it wasnt. he refused to answer in a civil way to a perfectly civil question so he got what he deserved.

Freedom of speech also means respecting others.

It wasnt till the 1960's that teachers started teaching their students that freedom of speech implied absolute liberty to shoot off your mouth without any limitations. And thats not the interpretation that the the courts have traditionaly gone by, nor from what we can tell about the constitutional notes, and the various memoirs from people at the convention was ever intended.

god i would have loved to live in the 60's!:) if for no other reason than to see the moon landings, tho woodstock would be very cool as well:D
• BekennBekenn Sinclair's Duck
Apart from the Apollo program, I'm quite glad the sixties are well and safely behind us.

As am I. Same goes for the 70s and 80s, and probably the 90s too. In 10 years, I'll probably say the same thing about the 00s. :)
• BekennBekenn Sinclair's Duck
Exactly, Biggles. Though I'm not yet embarrassed of the nineties; it's downright reasonable compared to the decades that came before it.
• BigglesBiggles The Man Without a Face
Give it a few years. :)
• But...the 80's gave us TETRIS!!! :D  :D
• BekennBekenn Sinclair's Duck
Yes, and Princess Bride.

Despite these things, the eighties sucked mightily.
• BigglesBiggles The Man Without a Face
Diamonds in the rough.
