  Speeding problem in Finland isn't nearly as bad as in Central and Southern Europe... I guess the legislation has something to do with this. Finns often don't know where to stop with boozing so any effective deterrent to keep their hands off the wheel is welcomed.

  I agree that it's a good system that it's dependant on one's income, but the amount is still not fair IMO. I got a BIG ticket once myself a long time ago when I drove too fast in a bad winter weather and my income then was definitely not that great. The ticket took an unfair amount of my income IMO and since then it's become even worse. Now they take even bigger amount of your income and the system works such away now that you get an unfairly big ticket even from a small speeding. The law sucks big time even though the principle behind it is good.
