lol, my astronomy lecturer said exactly that yesterday!
my geology lecturer also said the an 'education is what you're left with after you have forgotten the rest'! probably true as well. hes a really cool guy, which is unusual for a vice-chancellor of a uni!:D
One question - Are you all Scientists/Astronomists?! etc.. ?
:)
BigglesThe Man Without a Face
Well I am (of a sort), and I know a few other people here are. One person is studying to be a physicist, another works on fusion, another is currently living on top of a particle accelerator, the list goes on. :)
Damn I can never get my head round the stuff! You must wonder what I'm doing with you lot here!
Well I think its pretty cool actually! I wish I could be scientific but I think you either have it or you don't. Have to try and learn a little but in small doses mind! That nerdy questionaire was enough for one day! I just hate it when mathmatics come into it. I'm more of an Arty person. :)

Good luck with that. And to any1 else with degrees and stuff.

You're going to have to clarify what BS stands for. GCSE's is about all I know, oh and a BTEC diploma in Art. ;)

I forgot to say that I'm not completely just an armchair astronomer. I have reflector telescope for watching moon planets, and deep sky objects. Unfortunately Finland's weather makes observing pretty hard.
Also my firstname is pretty good, it's nice to have own name in suit:

(So who can guess my firstname?)

That's the great thing about FirstOnes... I'm more of an artist than a scientist myself, but I get along pretty will with everyone here. I'm interested in science and astronomy, but more from a science-fiction standpoint. There are plenty of other aspiring artists around abouts. And as Bekenn stated, we're all geeks. ;)

I got my bases covered by going into my university's Arts and Sciences Programme. It's a mix of science/history/english/world issues/critical thinking/math and stats/literature courses leading to a Bachelors of Arts and Science. So what do I do with that? Er...I'll get back to you...

I'll be starting one later this year.
Long term goal is to get my Masters in Geology, with an emphasis on Volcanology.

Biggest problem is putting my foot on the path and start walking... :p
