This religious "preaching" is just one way for leaders to get power. (Hitler as most noticeable of them)
So maybe that's why I don't wonder why they're doing this kind of things in US.
Actually, Hitler wasn't for any religion.
During the Third Reich a little thing called "Kirchensteuer" (wich means directly translated "Churchtax") was introduced. It was a fee each catholic had to pay to the catholic church.
Of course after the Nazi regime was defeated, about everything they made was condemned. But somehow noone remembered the "Kirchensteuer", so we still have that today, feeding fat cardinals...

And their King sitting on his throne in Rome. IMO, the Reformation didn't go far enough.

Nnnnno. Slight difference between Hitler calling for the extermination of the Jews etc etc etc, and a bunch of religious rednecks trying to outlaw the term evolution.
Didn't Hitler also rejected evolution theory? (their theory of about their superiority to others)

Teaching both sides of the argument, not just one. Here, no religion is allowed in schools. Religious freedom means don't even mention it in the public school unless you want to be expelled or sumesuch.
What about his attempts to create a religious icon of himself? He knew that religion is the opium of the masses so by raising himself into godhood he achieved more influence among his supporters and their children.
A2597, you are full of it. I learned about various religions in public school. The seperation of Church and State does not mean that nothing may be taught about religions in school, it means that religious teaching may not be done in public schools. There is a difference. If you want to pray before a test, nobody is going to stop you unless you try to organize a prayer group.
People who make the argument you just made are woefully misinterpreting reality. It's a scare tactic, trying to get ill-informed fundamentalists to chip away at the much-needed seperation.
Also, Hitler LOVED Christianity as a tool to maintain control. He was slowly subverting it into a different form, which would have eventually made a new religion with him as a holy figure.
The laws of this nation are based on religious freedom. The sponsorship of any religion by the state is the first step toward having an official State Religion. Look how well that works in Iran. Look at what that led to in Spain.
I remember about 10-20 years ago, seeing a science news special about a group that managed to create a video of the "orbit" of an atom's electron. Was a false color kind of thing, and I think they had developed a special kind of electron microscope to do it.
The orbit was a blur of course, and that brings up another interesting idea. What is the orbital speed of electrons anyway? Is it the same across the board for all atoms, or is it dependant upon the kind of atom?

Oh not by any means. Its really so blindingly obvious that I knew it long ago. Working in retail confirmed it, and then this article just struck me as one of those things that make you step back, take a deep breath, and vow to yourself that you will never ever be surprised by the depths of stupidity that people can reach.

That isn't possible, someone will always invite something so stupid that you can't be without wondering how they're able to breath.

For example like fundamental islamics.

IIRC, the orbit of an electron is so fast that it cannot be observed, or something like that. I'm probably wrong, but I seem to remember something about one can only predict where it will be next.

I believe this is where quantum mechanics comes in. There are only probabilities of where exactly the electrons are at any given moment.
This is the Heisenberg Uncertainty Principle. A photon bouncing off an electron will change its orbit, so you cannot know both where it is and where it is going to be in the furture, as the act of observing it changes it.

I was trying to remember the name of that... I generally call it that "Reporter Principle Thing" because it's always being compared to the effect of a reporter/camera on ordinary people. :)
