  Zone Alarm on my old PC liked to shut down the internet at random, for no particular reason, so Ialways shut it off. Unfortunately, it apparently also found it funny to block all access if I shut down ZA, citing an "attempted hacking attempt." As in, it claimed *I* was hacking my PC. In order to get the internet back up, I had to delete the Internet Logs folder, turn off my modem for 30 seconds, then restart my PC; afterward, it proceeded to ask me if I wanted to allow "X" to access the internet slash act as a server... X being EVERY PROGRAM INSTALLED ON MY COMPUTER. One. At. A. Time
