I understand what you're saying. I like both. I love hearing, seeing ppl in some reality stuff (not all). And I love fantasy where it takes you away to another place. Guess I'm lucky really cos I have best of both worlds liking both. Heck I wouldn't like B5 else! ;)
And talking of fantasy........I still love the old fantasy films like Legend, Krull, Labyrinth, Dark Crystal.
One thing I never want to see reality wise is it being made into movies like they talked about. Cinema should definitely stay as it is. :)

WHat I *REALLY* hate is when they get a show like "Who wants to be a Millionaire?" or "The Weakest Link" and call it "Reality Television" like it's something new and special, despite the fact that Jeopardy has done it better for years...
I agree there. Hey I used to love Block Busters. Hated when Lisa Tarbuck?! did it. God she SUCKED BAD!

I don't hate that so much as the fact that such shows always attract a large audience of people who don't like thinking.
Todays goverments and leaders don't encourage peoples to think independently.
So maybe these tv shows are god way for this.
I wonder why "Big-Arnie's" The Running Man comes to my mind now.:D

Ooh British was better! Apart from less evilness. Even the music is different. The unicorn bit was quite different when she sees them for the first time. I forget which way round it is now whether the Brit version is her singing or just a soundtrack. Just silly things like that. I don't know why it was altered so much to be honest! :)

Can't believe you said that. Ha! I thought the very same think a few wks ago cos someone was moaning loads on a reality msg board saying that it was like torture for the contestants. And we disagreed cos they weren't there against their will. Anyway it made me think of the Running Man cos my Dad reckoned one day reality tv would become like that. Scarey if it did!
Hmm I don't know Millionaire Joe or Robinson. Sounds like a reality of Swiss family Robinson! ;)
Now they got 'Celebrity get me out of here.' And ohhh a tacky one called 'The 'Batchelor'. About 15 women who are in competition to win over this Bachelor guy. In the last wk its between 2 women. Very sad.
Hey I know you all hate reality stuff but any1 remember one, I think it was called Treasure Island. Think it was Australian. They had 2 teams against each other and one from each team would lose each wk so it was eventually 1 on 1. They had to piece bits of a treasure map if they found them. Which then gave the finalists a chance to look for the treasure. This was better than Survivor. And yeah I wish they'd made another one.
This was say 3yrs ago now when reality tv was getting its hooks in.
I'd like to know for sure what it was called if someone here can remember!!
:)
BigglesThe Man Without a Face
Actually, I think the original treasure island concept was from NZ. The whole "manufacture a pop group" thing was too. I'm so ashmed.

You mean Pop Idol?
Tehehee! I thought you may have heard of it! T. Isle that is!
Least you got LOTR from there. Now thats nothing to be ashamed about is it? Mind you I thought the ending in the last one was bad. ;)

Not pop idol. There was one that came before where they made a 5-person group.

It's the only movie I have ever watched that captured the true nature and essence of my early fears as a child.
Excellent!
I have it on VHS, gonna have to watch that again...
But which version did you prefer? There's American and the British one. :)
I only saw the American version...
