My laptop is in the same series as this one. :)
(And before someone mentions it, yes I am aware that exploding LiIon batteries is a problem common to all LiIon batteries, not just the LiIon battery used in my laptop.)

NiMHs aren't neither 100% safe:

It is indeed. Compaq Presario, to be exact.
Oh, and that's one FUCKED UP laptop ;)
I want to insert some comment about how that's what you get for not building your own PC, but since it's a laptop, I'll forgive you. This time.
I wouldn't follow your advice since I'vre read what happened when you built your computer. :D
The good part of it is, I probably learned twice as much as I would have, if I hadn't gone through all of this. About six months ago, the extent of my PC knowledge was that video cards had cool names. :)

You actually can build your own laptop...but parts are hard to find and are often more expensive because they're selling to an individual rather than in bulk.
Even macs would have exploding batteries. They use the same tech. I'd love to see an exploded titanium powerbook, actually. See how strong it really is. :D
Is battery completely inside of notebook case?
If not, then then it would propably look pretty much same.

I was worried that at some point during this post, you'd mention those Powerbooks that kept catching on fire about ten years ago. But then, that was the bad old days of Gil Amelio.
:p :D

I would expect less case warping.
it's the little logo bubble thing on the top, in the first picture it looks exactly like the dell logo bubble thing.....
Well, they all seem to use "logo bubles".
My new Acer has also that kind of logo.
Damn, that compaq looks really thick compared to my Acer!

Well, little same thing like those "fragmentation grenade" type cellphone batteries.:D
(hmm, they didn't told were those NiMHs or LiIons on news)
I wonder whichs type is best "explosive": Lead acid, LiIon or NiMH? :D
