Hello folks,

Newbie here ! Long time reader, never poster.. ;)

I have a question to make, regarding some of the original Babylon 5 trailers, namely the TNT ones, or any actual B5 show Promotions. This one from the Down Below Sound Archive for example:

Fine example of a trailer, I was wondering if anyone has the Video version of this ? Or any other B5 Promotion trailer thats for the entire series itself. You see I'm trying to introduce some friends to the show, but they are the sort who don't have the patience to find it and watch it themselves until they're interested. So, anyone able to help?

    I believe that the DVD box sets come with quite a few of the trailers.

    Actually, I have the short version of the ad you posted as an example on tape. Its a copy of a copy of a recording, and both were made in the Super Long Play mode, but I can bring it into the computer. If I get the chance, I'll take care of it later today.

    The individual episode promos are all on the DVDs, though why you would want them is anyone's guess. The first four seasons all ended with that stupid electric guitar riff that was probably left over from the original score of the pilot, and every other episode is billed as having the crew solve the crisis of the week "to prevent Intersteller/Intergalactic/Unending WAR!"

    Boy, was that guy annoying. Thank God I was introduced to B5 through novels and tapes. I could just fast forward past it.

    PLEASE do it. i once have had these trailer as a crappy quicktime file but lost it. i realy want to see it again. its a great trailer in my opinion

    Well I want it because it's a good trailer, and as you say, the others are just plain crap. Though, the ones you are referring to are mainly, if not all just Episodic Trailers on the DVDs and not "Babylon 5" as a show trailers.

    Not as yet. Surprisingly watching an SLP tape fastforwarded looking for a single 30 second commercial is really, really hard. Add to the fact that I can't remember which episodes had the trailer in their commercial breaks, you have a recipe for pain. I'll keep an eye open, but I can't exactly sit through 22 hours of tape looking for one commercial.

    If someone knows of a specific first-run season 5 episode that has the trailer in it, though, that will help considerably.

    Well I used Hunt Smacker on the VBB, HLP I don't post much. VWatchBB I use a different name. I also ran Freespace 2 Sector since about March 2000. :)

    think you should search at the end of season 4 /beginning of seasn 5. because b5 was picked up by tnt at season 5. ther other 4 seasons were made from ptn afaik

    Actually, any episode I have on tape is far game. They were all recorded during the first run of Season 5 on TNT. The first four seasons during the daily rerun and the fifth at the Wednesday night showing. And I seem to recall even episodes that were late in the season had the short version of the trailer. Can't remember which ones, of course, damn it all.
