Crusade -- That's it?
I finished crusade(2 days ago),
at first the show looked like crap, but slowly it started gaining my interest, it actually became interesting.
i dont understand why it failed so hard and got canceled?
i mean it wasn't as good as B5, wasn't even coming close to it, but it was JMS after all...
the rating was that bad?
is there any chance they will resume it? or make something to makeup for it?
also, where can i get the technomage triology?(i tried last thread no1 knows?)
i searched in amazon but i dont know what was what..

They're listed as "Techno-Mage", so if you do a search for "technomage", it won't find them. Anyway here's the Amazon links...

Pretty accurate description, Crusade is the example of what happens when a creator/writer refuses to give in to network pressure and change the show.
From what i understand, JMS decided that they pushed him into changing Season 5 of b5, and he was not going to let them push him into changing crusade, and that spelled the end of the show.
Had the cancelation happened a couple weeks earlier and i'm still convinced we'd be watching season 3 or 4 of crusade on Sci Fi channel right now.
Anyway, re: Crusade, it was actually cancelled before a single episode aired due to all this behind-the-scenes strife between TNT and JMS.
It is also important to note that about half of the episodes jms partly gave in to TNT 'influance'.
Here is the story. There are two braches of TNT, TNT West and TNT east. One of them was the team resposible for saving babylon 5, and got crusade going. They left jms alone to do his fine work as he started crusade. After about half of the crusade eps were filmed, the OTHER team said "wait a minute, we want to be involved now!" So they did and started meddling in jms' creation. They created the warzone pilot, so it had more action and things blowing up.
And despite all the effort that TNT put out to kill crusade when it aired, crusade's ratings wern't that bad.
I remember hearing there were alot of Anti-TNT stuff written in Minbari text there...

Summaries of the scripts in Finnish. I cuoldn't find any in English.
MAN i'm so disappointed that i wont be able to see "End of the Line" this sounds like an episode that could change the b5 universe for good!

the thing he may be talking about may be more books.
But it did sound more like a TV project (not a series) than anything else.
My guess is stage play or radio drama. More likely on the radio front, as JMS has expressed an admiration for the form before.
Hm, a radio play on the Telepath War. That could be interesting.

That is in the order of likelyhood. I seriously doubt a stage show based on B5 will happen, I don't think B5 has the right type of story/theme etc to be produced that way. The radio show COULD happen but would he announce it in that way? I don't think he would because it wouldn't be that bigger deal and only certain areas and countries could listen in anyway.
A movie is likely that would fit with all the facts (also a TV movie) I can't see why this can't happen, my only concern would be how big is the B5 fan-base? Who would be watching this movie?
A game could happen, I don't see why it couldn't.... but then again I don't expect it to.
This could be about a new series of books or something along those lines, I just throw this in because it is likely.

Yeah, I met two fivers in Best Buy a little over a week ago. One of which has actually been here before, but hasn't been back in a while. I recommended that he check out the forums, told him who I was, and to post once in a while. :)
